Uh, oh Daisy Chains. You're telling your age. They used chalk and blackboards when I was in elementary school, and I'm 65! It's all dry erase boards nowadays. I remember when wiping the board down and clapping the erasers clean (outside) was either a teacher's pet job or a disciplinary job. But, when I was young, if Miss Bell stayed and made sure I did a good job, I'd clean the blackboard for her after class anytime. She's a sweetheart!

your videos appear to be catered to children but since you got on the science kick I am actually learning, or at least relearning what I forgot. Good job...and the line "pay attention or take a nap if you already know everything" was so unexpected. That was funny.
Venus! The evening star. Miss Bell, this is the first thing that lights up in the evening a great deal of the time right in front of my house. I used to call it the wishing star to my children and grandchildren. I used to tell them to make a wish on the first star they see. And that was it. You know the one. Star light, star bright. First star I see tonight. I wish I may, I wish I might, have this wish I wish tonight. They had no idea it might be a planet until they went to a class like yours. They came home and told me, dad, I think that's a planet, not a star. And they started growing up. But we wished on it anyway for a few more years until it was "too childish to do". I still look for it if I'm outside on a summer night. And I still wish on it... 🍎

Even though 3rd grade was many years ago, it’s better to have Miss Belle teach this stuff. Just a remark: magnetism has nothing to do with the planet being able to hold moons or rings... that has to do with gravity (which is completely unrelated to magnetism).

The best fact is that people used to believe another planet, Vulcan, existed between Venus and the sun because the orbit of Venus did not allign with Newton's laws without the existance of Vulcan. What is actually the case is that Venus is so close to an extreme mass, the Sun, that the orbit is characterized by Einstein's theory of relativity and not Newton's laws.
