The ON: Kinetic Manifesto is the first BTS video I watched and I was instantly hooked!,and I haven’t looked back since then.💜💜💜💜💜💜💜And Jimin became my bias from the first time he opened his mouth and sang.
It was my first BTS MV too and I was instantly hooked, 7 amazing singers who are also pro dancers with a crazy difficult coreography and the best music production I heard in a LONG time...everything just fits in this On, Kinetic manifesto...I mean even the name is soooo coool ❤
I love this song so much that I got "bring the pain" tattooed on my hand right before seeing them perform it live. It's an experience I'll never forget. JK has even said he pushed it so much with the vocals while recording that he wasn't sure how he'd do it live, but the boy kills it. Hobi's part is so satisfying. The rhythm and flow, and the way he moves... One of my all-time fav BTS songs for sure.
It's definitely about their journey. Critics. BTS saying bring the pain on. We know how to handle it. We brought ourselves into this beautiful prison - the fame. I was posted to a makeshift clinic to be involved in Covid PCR testing for the migrant workers affected. I was also part of a mobile team that visited 3 different workers' dorms everyday to do Covid PCR testing. I worked in PPE in hot tropical weather without any air-conditioning, and by the time I was done for the day, it felt like I had just gotten out of a sauna. If you pay close attention to the lyrics of "ON", you'll understand why I listened to it everyday on the way to work, and why this was the song that kept me going. To BTS, the "BE" album was their pandemic album, but to me, their "Map Of The Soul: 7" album was my pandemic album, and "ON" was one of the songs in it.
