I’ve had that happen on my channel and just fun fishing numerous of times. One thing I do is add a liter line to my braid. Those hooks sometimes have small gaps and honestly if it doesn’t start with a gap eventually one will be created from so many pulls. So when open water fishing since there’s no worry of getting snagged a piece of mono or floro works well because it’s diameter is wider which makes it harder to slip through the eye of the hook
Awesome fishing trip brother! Slabs for sure! What a fun day out there. The best knot i use on braid and haven't had any problems with is the palomar knot. Works for me. Thats my preference when using braid. 🐟💯🏆
@Fishing_with_Domingo I switched to 6ilb test instead of the 4lb I been using. And yes the Palomar not will be my next knot for this weekend. Can't afford to loose those big ones sir. Lol
@coveultimatefishing8937 I feel ya, bro! I was using 6lbs Mr crappie line, and I was losing too many jigs and too many fish. It's not good when your line breaks when you try to pull in that monster! 🏆💯🐟🙏
@michaelb2186 hey Michael I did have a loop knot on 2 of my poles and it happened with those as well. One guy did comment that I need to check my jig head to make sure there isn't a small gap there. The line can squeeze through that gap
Change your line fist after that use a single loop knot I use the same knot Eric Cagle uses watch one of his vids he will show you how.to tie it.I have not lost a fish since I started using that knot. Make sure you retie after about 4or 5 fish.
Check your line first then use pliers to make sure there is no gap on the hook. Some time there is a small gap on the hook and the line will slide out. Drag not being set could also be the problem.
Edward you hit the nail on the head. Because on one of the fish I lost I saw that my knot didn't come loose it had to have slid through that small space. I have seen that before and didn't think about closing it. Thanks for the input 👍🏿
