I think the one thing I missed the most from being in Germany and can't wait to get back to when we get back is the windows! They're just so cool and versatile!
Wow. Your house is lovely. Thanks for making this video. We're moving to Belgium in July. My wife just accepted a teaching job at SHAPE High School. I'm just tagging along because I can work remote in my job. We've been wondering what to do about appliances; whether we can pick them up used, or rent them. Don't really want to buy new, if we can avoid it. Question: Are houses like this easy to find? Is this type of PCS housing available to civilian DoD employees?
Hey!! I’m PCSing to shape soon! I love your home and am so thankful for this video!!! I don’t really love the stone style that majority of the homes are so I’m happy your house looks a little more modern. What did you tell housing upon arrival to get this type of home?
Hey!! Thank you so much. I believe we saw it posted on the housing board in housings actual office. We waiting a few weeks for the prior member to move out. It was well worth it in my opinion. It’s really tough sometimes with finding housing here that isn’t super old, so if you see one, act fast! Please let me know if you have any additional questions. I definitely advise going through the housing office here and picking a place they have approved. You wouldn’t believe some of the horror stories for people when it’s tome to PCS out with housing that was not through the actual base housing office.
I’m PCSing there in JAN…any chance you need your lease taken over? Love your house and how you’ve arranged it. Do you have a link for your property manager? I’d like to see what else they are renting.
Hello Amanda. Thank you. It will not be available to rent until early summer. When it is available, it will be advertised in the housing office on SHAPE/homes.mil. This is the only property the landlord owns. They have been great to work with.
Dominique's Lifestyle Vlog They do not have on base housing. The do have gov lodging right off base, but it is very limited and not exactly the nicest.
Beautiful home We just moved ro SHAPE 2 weeks ago ans are currently house hunting. We really like the Soignes area if you don't mins me asking, what are did you settle in?
Your place is beautiful. I may be PCSing to Belgium and I was curious how you found your place? Does the military assist you in house hunting or did you connect with someone in the community?
Homes.mil is where you can search for housing. Otherwise we have a housing office on SHAPE that can assist. Utilizes are going up 200% in Europe in December. Keep that in mind when you are searching for a place. They cut the COLA as well and we are waiting to see if they will eventually increase it to help. Right now a single Airman was paying around €300 for utilizes and his already went up to €1,000. (That’s almost my rent). We have very little base housing, but now people are trying to get in that instead to avoid the utilities issue.

Almost none. It’s just lovely. Lol. It’s usually rainy or overcast most days. Not much snow if any in the winter. It usually just rains all winter, spring, and like a 50/50 chance in the summer.
Trust me your oven is a good size compared to ours here in Korea lmao! Is this considered base housing that’s off base or is it off base housing? For a place like this what’s the OHA cost? You should do more videos! We will hopefully be moving there next after Korea!
The oven size isn’t bad, until the holidays roll around when you need more space. Lol. This is off base housing. OHA is around $1200 here. It’s not a bad place to be. A bunch of people aren’t a fan of it here, but it could always be worse. I like that we are able to travel to a bunch of different places. It rains a lot here. Like a lot.
Ashley Churchill that’s what I’m looking forward too getting to travel so easily! I hate too much rain but whatever I’ll deal with it to travel lol! Thanks for replying!
Lol. We will still be living in it. 😆 I wish you luck though! It can be a difficult process for many to find a good home here. We got really lucky to be honest. Our landlords are amazing.
I miss being at SHAPE, thats how I found this video. I was there in 2003 & 2004. Plenty of memories! Nice video!

I meant utilities* 😑
@@ashleychurchill1228 I was going to ask that, as my family and I are getting ready to PCS there in the summer...
@@dux_bellorum Check on homes.mil or the housing office for open housing at the time you PCS.
What is PCS?...I was looking for a tour of housing for Foreign Service Officer-US Embassy.
Permanent Change of Station for U.S. military members. This is not near the Embassy. This is near SHAPE.
Thanks for sharing! Your house looks amazing! Can you post the link to the closet things?
