You make fair points, but as a Miss Universe in 2024, there is literally no excuse for any use of racial slurs in the climate we live in and the accessibility to information due to social media/internet. The winner MUST be competent in social issues/causes as her duties will be advocating for the marginalized. I'm sorry, but there's no excuse for Victoria especially with Denmark being part of the European Union, who implemented the EU anti-racism action plan and has had multiple EU anti-racism summits. There's anti-racism campaigns from different organizations plastered all over Europe, including sports (ie. soccer). So sorry if I'm not buying it.
I got so inspired to join pageantry because they are so good in performing in stage, they're so witty full of personality and intelligent and now this year i think they not looking for that, this era jkn organization looking for mediocre candidate to win and to easy to market. LET'S BE HONEST miss universe lost it's meaning i see this miss universe a pathetic crown no meaning and integrity
Hey Vijay, I enjoyed your video, but I also want to discuss a recent video from the African Diaspora. The presenter pointed out that after Victoria was crowned Miss Universe, all the contestants rushed to Nigeria to congratulate her. I never thought Denmark was considered a strong contender, and I heard Victoria didn't get along well with many contestants. The day after the coronation, the Mexican media criticized the Miss Universe Organization for not crowning Nigeria and questioned the appropriateness of a question posed to Venezuela. The organizers have lost credibility with many national directors, and some are reconsidering sending contestants to Miss Universe. The reasons behind South Africa's resignation and Panama's disqualification are troubling. It's frustrating that Panama was disqualified for lousy behavior while the Dominican Republic bullied other contestants. I've decided I won't watch Miss Universe again.
Nigeria would have never got the crown, she is a divorced woman. The Miss Universe organization only used her for the publicity that she came with! They already knew who the winner was going be! Sham of a show!!!
That’s interesting, at least on my end I saw Denmark on Top 5 leaderboards quite often and from audience view videos Denmark has a remarkable amount of cheers relative to other contestants. But I appreciate you sharing your points and thank you for informing! Yeah, I personally has Nigeria or Thailand in my top 2, and for the same reasons as Catriona. If you watch my Top 30 and Swimsuit reaction, you’ll see I didn’t have Denmark move forward from the Swimsuit round. I def understand why national directors are reconsidering sending their contestants to Miss Universe. This edition has put so much of their credibility into question
Hey @vijayreyna, have you seen the hotel conditions for Miss Universe contestants in Mexico City? Mia and others got sick, and there weren't enough water bottles during rehearsals. It isn't comforting! Fiji's response was spot on. Similar issues happened with Miss Supranational in Poland. In my 2007 experience, the only issue was the crowd booing Miss USA. Miss Universe needs to do better-this was tough to watch!
As an attorney, you don't always need to have a strong case to take legal actions. Also, you can sway judges and jurors, just by playing with words. Example, in 2020 Trump had no facts supporting the election being rigged however still went ahead with legal actions.
To be honest I feel like the kind of slip ups they’re making are unacceptable considering the size of their platform. I’m gonna go ahead and assume the best about them and say that Anne didn’t mean to be racist or Victoria didn’t know the weight of that word, as people from those countries such as Denmark really don’t know about the issues African Americans face in general. However, Anne should know that if you’re speaking on a platform with millions watching you need to be VERY careful with the words you choose. If you can’t do that then you shouldn’t be speaking at all. All this drama so close together and actual pretty serious issues is cheapening the brand a lot. I used to really want to enter MU myself, but right now I’m really not sure. And also reposting that “finally a biological woman won” when she herself is trans like?? I think Victoria is a beautiful young girl who is learning, but I can’t lie people have been fired from many jobs including being TV personalities for saying that word. Make of that what you will.
Dude honestly, twitter far-left drama is not taken seriously outside the United States. Denmark is the first blonde in 20 years people need to relax, my god.
I think the issue was less about left vs right and more about the numerous countries who don’t have many blonde hair blue eyed women who feel like their chances of winning are slim or that Miss Universe had pre-picked their winner based on her features.

I saw a video of Mia explaining why she pulled out but now I can’t find it, and wasn’t able to watch it. Do you know the reason?

Thank you for sharing. I 100% agree, the organization is way way way too big to have these kind of slip ups. It just shows how many gaps there are
