I wish I could take credit, but this is a kit designed by Tim Foley at Mianne Benchwork. Easy to put up and will be easy to take down. www.miannebenchwork.com
Very nice. 👍👍 BTW that dialogue was "The first gift of Christmas." You don't need to run the FlyerChief locomotives at 18v for everything to function. I have three of them and everything functions at 60mph (12.93vac on my Klein Digital Multimeter) on the throttle of my 18B transformer. Horn, Bell, Dialogue, prime mover sound, front and rear electric couplers (plus coupler sound for FlyerChief 2022 and earlier locomotives). Locomotives ran nice and smooth. If you download the Cab 3 app for android or apple you get fine controls over the sounds and speeds. It will connect and stay connected to three FlyerChief locomotives. You can control one at a time, but the other two continue on their last settings just like the universal controller. Also with the app you can use voice commands.
@@-MAILMAN Thank you! I noticed the sounds come on at lower power settings and probably will not burn out as quickly. (If they do that?). I was going to just hook it up to the constant voltage terminals, but decided it gives me more options to run regular trains on the inner loop if I want to swap out. And yes, this is my first Flyonel Locomotive and Train gift to myself so it is the first gift of Christmas! Thanks and Happy Holidays
@HallofScienceWest My wife wanted a Polar Express FlyerChief set for the last couple of years so I bought the last one from Portlines in his Flash sale (all his Christmas items were listed at 35%). Doug emailed me today and said it could be here as early as today. She is very happy. It will run under the tree and probably only at Christmas.
@@jamesmccann1097 Being a vintage Flyer guy, I really appreciate the all cast on appearance of the engine. To me it looks like something AC Gilbert and his design staff would have produced in the early post-war years. That said, hand rails would be nice too. 👍
The beginnings of a sweet layout! 👏 🚂
Looking good!
Nice update
Impressed by the wood working skills! Support trellis is right smart.

Looks and sounds great! I think if they would have used wire handrails instead of cast on, it would have greatly enhanced the engines appearance.
