No matter if bad weather, broken lines, lost fish, or no catch for hours, he's always looking forwards and celebrating each little victory. Calvin had the best buddy with him to save his marriage (hehe) and just have a great day out!
Super enjoyed this video - It was fun to see your friend get hooked-up. It never occurred to me to clean and cook a surf perch that way. We always fillet them, but I will give your method a shot. Personally I think surf perch is a fine eating little fish.
In order for it to come out crispy, here is a quick method. To your salt garlic and paprika mix add some flour and put some slits in your fish and then dredge it in that mix. Along with your butter mix in a little bit of avocado oil. Then fry your fish to a crisp. Do not move the fish until you are able to move it without the skin sticking. Then turn it to the other side. Believe me you will get the crispiest fish that you will ever eat. You will be thanking me later. I hope this helps. I love watching your channel and hope to meet you one day.

On a different note, when the Anchovy are pushed up on the beach and you can't see Stripers boiling, we used a snag rig to snag Anchovy and let it sit on the bottom where Stripers are picking off wounded Anchovy
You should watch the 10 second perch video. It’s for fresh water perch but I can’t see any reason it wouldn’t work for surf perch. Cheers and thanks for the awesome vids

Gulp sandworms work like charms on a double dropper loop setup with some baitholder hooks and a torpedo or pyramid sinker for surf perch
