    1. Do not skip warm up.
    2. Stop replaying the ball right after your mistake. Restart your exercise.
    3. Don't neglect practice with lower level players.
    4. Don't joke around with easy balls.
    5. Pracise your passive game.
    6. Don't play hard, use spin.

    The training mistake of not practicing with players of lower level than you is especially important for many reasons. One is that you may overestimate your own level, another is that it creates a culture in your club of helping others and this will make other players help you. Also, table tennis is not so simple as a numbering hierarchy that is neatly ordered from player #1 to player #1000, it is an important life lession that strength and weakness is separated into innumerable aspects and that vibing with someone and playing to their stregths are just as important to develop yourself as a player. Teaching is the best way to learn. Controlling the ball vs slow an unorthodox strokes is fundamental for beginners and every type of play will make you a more rounded player. I fall into this mistake myself -- I complain inside my head when people cant return the ball in drills in a proper way. Instead, I should use the opportunity to work on footwork during drills when the player dont have control of the ball. If you play sets with someone that barely score point on you, you have a great opportunity to practice something you are not good at instead of playing into the patterns and abilities that you always play. This will make you impossible to predict when playing stronger opponents and people will start to see you as a "creative player" that is hard to pin down and make a strategy against. You must see opportunity where other players just want things given to them. This is the only way to separate yourself from other players.

    Just recently found your channel and I'm really enjoying the content. I can certainly appreciate tip #3, which seems to be a problem with many players. It's a bad look for the sport, especially within smaller clubs. Our current club president is quite condescending and arrogant, and rarely will play much with anyone he believes is below him. Your approach to the game and positive attitude is refreshing in comparison.

    These are the things that you easily forget and that will separate you from others in the long run. Coaches tend to not focus on these details, so a lot of players need to be reminded. Good video!

    Very helpful video. I really liked the advice regarding always adding spin to your shots for the extra security to get the ball to the opponent's side.
    Your technique, especially backhang is really good!
    Btw, what is your current equipment (blade and rubbers)?

    Have you had trouble with blisters? I got multiple recently for some reason and now the skin is getting really thick in those spots. Timo actually talked about that in a German podcast last week and said he is weaing two pairs of socks to prevent them 😅

    • @IbaDiaw
      @IbaDiaw  ปีที่แล้ว

      No I don’t have trouble with blister.. but I know many players who does..
