    I own a number of Fuji cameras and your explanation / demonstration of this is great. You kept it simple and relatable that anyone should be able to understand. A follow-up video going into the AF Custom settings would be a good compliment to this.

      The XT3 is definitely not an "action sport" camera. If you are looking to capture fast motion try Sony or Canon.

    imo, these Fujis are just so good even at high ISOs. Personally, I blast my X-E3 and X-T3 up to 12800 if need be. Noise be damned, I'm getting that shot! lol. Thanks for the cool video Omar!

    • @migneault62
      @migneault62 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      holly damn, I couldn't get myself to go higher than 1200 iso for a good while ! xD

    • @wanakoplays8874
      @wanakoplays8874 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@migneault62 i feel people these days are way too fixated on having the cleanest image possible and will actually choose to NOT take that important photo, all because the ISO was too high and may be a little noisy. I was like that when I was a noob, and I deeply regret it. I potentially missed my best shots because of it. It was very stupid. I mean, yeah there are limits to how high you can go, but it's not that bad.
      Back around the days when I started photography around '06, my Canon 30D's ISO 800 was the highest I'd go because it turned really bad after that, and I used it for 10 years. In retrospect, it wasn't that bad, tbh. But compared to that, a Fuji's 12800 is nothing.

    • @TheSH1N1GAM1
      @TheSH1N1GAM1 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Wanako Plays!
      I totally agree. I was the same way with my Canon 60D. Now I have auto ISO set to max out at 12800. A slightly noisy shot is better than no shot because it’s 5 stops underexposed. That’s really the worst it is with modern cameras: slightly noisy.

    Omar I love your reviews and tutorials. This was especially helpful in understanding the use of zone focusing and how fast a shutter speed you use. Photographing fast action in the local high school gyms often poses 2 problems for me. The first is White Balance because of the odd mix of lights employed and the second is the lack of sufficient light to have fast shutter speeds even at high ISO. The first issue I solved using custom WB settings. I recently purchased a collapsible neutral gray and white uh... thingy to set the WB. Before that I either let auto WB struggle or sometimes found a white wall in the gym to use to set WB. But I digress. To solve the second problem of the low light I have tried setting the exposure compensation to -1 or lower, to capture darker images. This allowed for faster shutter speeds. I used RAW and then boosted the exposure back up in post processing.

    You don’t need 1/1000 to shoot action. I shoot bicycle racing from around 1/320 even 1/250; if needed, matter of fact back in the film days the old standard night sports was f/2.8 at 1/250th. Usually for bike racing I’ll try for 1/400 or 1/500, granted high can be better, but not necessary, a little blur on the extremities does show motion. I’ll shoot roller derby if I’m not using a strobe anywhere from 1/250 to 1/500 depending on the ambient light. One thing I notice with the Fuji’s is they focus on Continuous better is using burst drive modes.
