Gotta give it to the Western tourists for actually taking a bus everywhere lol. It's torture, particularly around mid-day with how packed and humid it gets. Enjoy Lanka man, personally not a fan of the South because I find it really bleak and dreary the way it looks, but check out Nuwara Eliya if you haven't yet. Definitely worth it.

There are restaurants, cinemas, and shops upstairs of the bus stand building in Matara. You can get food there at the bus stand itself
