Why wouldn't you buy in Italy... 1. It's much cheaper and you can own a real castle with land. 2. Italy villages and countryside is much touristic than France in general. 3. It's much warmer, you can find gems with seaside views! 4. It's not as different from france, it has history, touristic spot, good food and a lot of sunshine with terraces and café for the guests. Yes it won't be similar château architecture, yes the landscape is different, but in my opinion with that money you can get a palacio in italia....idk😅 it maybe because am use to france landscape and I want something different 😂.....i rather have a villa in riviera than a château in the north😅 so I like Italy more because I cannot afford a small house in riviera france😂😂😂
Very exciting! I remember going through purchasing my place here, and all those steps. Even though it was a cash offer, it still took four months! LOL Looking forward to your next steps!
That chateau is exquisite, the property is also so attractive and the stables beautifully proportioned, plus the entrance allee and town close by. My only thought would have been to go in with an offer a bit above the sales price, this is the one!
@@patriciaverbeeck8263 The cool thing in France is that the seller chooses the price and they don’t do the bidding war thing. If you are the first one to offer full price then you can’t be circumvented so it’s a timing game!
Fantastic! So happy for you! That chateau is amazingly priced...how many hectares are there? Can you please explain a bit how the you arrived at the total price, I.E. the price of the chateau was 695,000 Euros, then what other fees and taxes did you have to pay for your total expenditure? Enjoy!
@@marygoodson4920 It’s 7 hecters … The price is in euros & the notaire fees (set by the government) turn out to be about 7-8 % + Ben’s service fee but the real kicker is the exchange rate. At the time the dollar was low - like 91 but now it’s 97 so it would have been 6% less… The other things are insurance and of course moving across the ocean!
That might be the château that the TH-cam channel château love owned before they downsized. If it is, it’s beautiful inside and you can go to their channel and go back and look inside to what Vivian did. In fact, you can see her château now, and they are always open to new friends a lot of château ownershave all become great friends
I’m so nervous for you! I’m hoping this is the one meant for you! It’s such a beautiful chateau! We’re still considering taking the plunge. I look every day on TH-cam. I know it will happen if meant to be. I’m so excited for you and this journey!!!
@ LOL No shade intended. I just like seeing similar minded cool people creating a new life in France. I’m interested in learning your plans, how well you start assimilating, etc. personally I’m not that interested in renovations (at least the daily grind of it). It helps me envision my new life, to even though my goal is a quaint cottage. Truly happy you found such a fantastical property.
So exciting!! Looking forward to next video. Also, at some point will you go into detail on the purchasing experience? I was under the impression that it’s not often people use a an agent to purchase in France not sure? Would love ALL deets. 🫶🏽
Totes! I am putting as much detail into the episodes as possible without becoming boring, lol. You are correct in your assumption. There are no buyers agents. Ben is a buyers rep, his service caters to the English speaking clients that are purchasing from abroad, and his fee is on top of purchase not included in so it doesn't take any $ away from the seller agent. I did this by myself for 3 years and couldn't get any real traction even though I was in France for a solid 4 months boots on the ground. It's human nature to go for the easiest sale, therefore if an agent can get a local French buyer in their own language it makes sense for them.
Can't wait to see your adventures at this dreamy chateau! Congrats!
Thank you Terri! Me loo LOL.
