He trained rope a dope which is not an easy training but it works out pretty well . Watch a very good and historical video for World championship . Ali vs Foreman in TH-cam . And videos with Mike Tyson . Both (Ali and Mike) knew how to protect their bodies (liver and stomach) , with arms and elbows
That punch you are talking about is called the wrestlers overhand right in mma. Usually gets thrown when the opponent is looking for the person to shoot in. Highly effective in mma. The only difference is they usually step more forward with it. That gives it extra range too. That actually leads to a shot too.
@@Tony_Jeffries i'm short and always had to fight taller opponents, therefore I was mainly punched in the face, BUT, for the same reason, as soon as I could close the distance and start working the body I saw the stamina of my opponents drop drastically within a couple of rounds! Body punches are SO EFFECTIVE!
I was being threatened at school a lot, people saying imma beat you up, people saying imma hurt you, when I did nothing wrong, I was scared at first then I turn to boxing, I was really bad at the start, but then Tony Jeffries because of you, I’ve improved on my punches, stances, speed you name it, I will continue to get better every time I watch one of you videos, Thanks man 🥊

Nervous because im a woman and 5ft whereas hes 6'2 haha. Ive been doing your taller opponents workout and looked at your other taller opponent based videos. And of course your other boxing workout videos have really helped with my technique and stamina. Making notes, practicing. I started 6 weeks postpartum in July this year. I look in the best shape ever and my husband absolutely loves it. Ive learned so much from you. Thank you Tony!

Stamina is gonna be important too pace ur self
@PartyCrasher04 hello! Thank you for your comment. We did it yesterday, I predominantly did body but when he was defending his head slouched towards me I would do things like punch between his hands so he brings his arms closer together so I could quickly get the side of his head etc. It was fun! Didn't manage to knock him down but I was extremely close in numerous points of the fight but because he's so tall he can move away in a way that leaves my range so fast so I had to keep maintaining moving forward moving forward cutting the ring moving forward. He rated me an 8/10 as he said I did everything else well, my stamina was fantastic, and my determination was good. He said on another day that same fight from me wouldve knocked him down. I'm gonna keep training so I achieve this! He said he's proud of his work as my trainer 🥹
It's def powerful enough to drop someone without the full slip. My 14 y/o son and I were play fighting a bit this past weekend and he hit me there but not very hard, and I felt weird for 10-15min. A full grown man with an actual punch would do much more damage

Hello sir, your Master Boxing course changed my life, I am so grateful that you created this amazing course, you have my forever gratitude. I can't describe in words how thankful I am to you!
I’ve done a bit of boxing training and had one white collar years ago. I’m 41 now and am getting back into it. I can hit the bag but used to struggled replicating it in sparring.
Ive been skeptical about creatine forever, but im definitely getting older and I can’t just jump right into my high intensity marine corps workout, or even my boxing routing like I could when I was a bit younger. Might have to try your sponsor. That beautiful liver shot is my favorite punch in all martial arts! ❤
Slip and punch to the liver is taught as a counter in several martial arts as well. I learned self defense to protect myself in extreme situations, and primarily I'm looking to run away first and foremost... you can't be assaulted if you're not there. If I can't run away, I'm looking to change the scenario enough to gain that ability, and this is high on the list of things I'm looking to do. If you groin-hammer or liver-hammer someone who's attacking you, they aren't going to chase you any longer after you've hit them with that.
3:32 just want to point out that tyson pretty clearly stuffs the counter right with a jab before he moved his head down into the zone. Hes touching the body and framing his elbow to jam the counter and feeling his opponent out. Masterful work.
Also in a street defence scenario, the uppercut is the most dangerous, since you can bite your tongue, adding a lot more pain. Not to mention that you might break the front teeth too
In French boxing, when I was not even trained at boxing coming from tkd, that's was the only punch I could land. Indeed, it works all the time. The problem is that it's not easy to control and it always come with too much power for training session. Now that I'm a little better at boxing, when I feel I'm in danger I use it, still I didn't find the way to apply it gently.
I've been boxing since i was 6 but i have to quit when i was 12. Since then i wasn't really interested in fighting in the ring again, but guess what? Literally just a couple of months ago Tony Jeffries literally popped up of youtube recommendation. Now im 15 and tomorrow im gonna have my first fight after years, thank you brother❤️
i already got K.Oed by a Solar Plexus punch. i thought I took it like a champ and it didn't hurt at all, until I took my first breath in, oh boy, the pain was unbearable.
Tony I have hemophilia and am in boxing but my doctor said I should go boxing and see something lighter. What do you recommend if I just train and don't compete anymore?
I'm,m sorry, but I have learned so much I didn't know about boxing from you, Sir. I'm not very good, I just started, but I have many years of combat sports. But peekaboo boxing was so interesting to me in the 80s watching Mike, the god, Tyson. So your more traditional style is fascinating to me. But you delve into my zones too, which is also fun to be validated. Nevertheless, I just love how you just give it clean and easy. Much respect. My wife is about sick of you. lol I'd love to buy you a pint and have a just for fun sparring match. Cheers. Great channel. Kids, go box. Didnt really learn much that session besides of pain. I would consider competing one day but its defo too early. Any tips?
