Hi Jane thank you for another great video as always the end of an era for Woolworths/Hartes I bet there's many people that have fond memories of that store such a shame have a lovely evening xx
Thank you Jane for this very interesting video. For some reason the 'like' button isn't working even though I tried to 'like' this video several times. I for one am glad to see this eyesore of a building go. Even though I don't drive I would rather see Blackpool full of small car parks than plots of empty land and derelict buildings. Saying that if the plots of empty land were full of lovely plants, butterflies and bees they would be lovely, but most I see are not. Hopefully the owner will get his planning permission to redevelop this site, sooner rather than later. 17 month's on, there is no sign of the new St Chad's Hotel being built, which is good news for the two buildings behind the St Chad's site which are enjoying nice bright rooms with fantastic sea views and sunsets. Xxx
I TOO MISS HERTS, LOVE THE CHRISMAS SHOP.,IT WAS BEAUPISUL,WE ALL WAYS POP IN ,WHEN WE WAS IN BLACKPOOL VERY SAD ITS GONE,IT WILL NEVER BE THE SAME.THANE YOU JANE OTHER GOOD ONE.XX
Have you ever been on a digger, Jane? I could see you operating one! This is how I found you on one of these Hotel fire/digger videos.Yes, it's been freezing today. Hope you get to watch your telly programmes later!
Hi Jane excellent video the demolishing of the Hart's store it will make Blackpool better and south shore and Waterloo road and bond street do massive developments happening and hopefully the developers will develop the area of south shore and bring more visitors to Blackpool and Blackpool council should let developers come into Blackpool and make Blackpool better the council do nothing in Blackpool at least the developers do care about Blackpool and visit Blackpool stay blackpool love blackpool enjoy Blackpool and Blackpool loves visitors thanks Jane ❤ from Keith
Hi Jane it's looking better already! I would think that the landowner is relieved to see the building finally flattened. The councils decisions on this site seem to be questionable to say the least... Until the next one, please give my best wishes to the teaboys
Huge relief for the retail community around this eyesore. Awful treatment of the owner. He deserves fast track planning permission now. I am wondering at the ability of the machinery to get about when there are basement rooms under part of the exposed area. I am also wondering about how much asbestos is or is not there!! If this building had been in the northern end of Blackpool and 5 years of disuse had not allowed vandals and squatters ro ruin it, this building would have made a great home for the Bonny Street Market traders and also the original Abingdon Street market traders. The differences between north and south Blackpool are as deep as the differences between the north and south UK from what I have seen. This area needs all the tender loving care it can get in my opinion.
Did they use asbestos in the days when that was built? They look to be putting stuff in the basement probably to make it more stable for tracking across.
@@visitfyldecoast Asbestos has been used in isulating heating pipes etcetera in many stages of the life of old buildings, sometimes behind walls and around boilers and so on. I do not thinks though in this case. With the size of the basement in that area of the building I did not think there would be enough bricks to fill the voids and to tamp down to the right density to support the huge plant machinery but perhaps the basement was just a few storerooms.
Wonder what happened to my original comment posted, it completely vanished. TH-cam is a funny old platform at times. Anyway, it's good to see that old eyesore building finally being demolished to help improve the look of the town around that area. The bulldozers now need to turn their attention to the building on the corner of Abingdon Street and Queen Street opposite the central library.
A couple of people have said similar about things going missing. Randomly my mouse isn't working as I'm answering comments. As Kevin would say 'I hate computers'!
Very interesting to see. Noticed there was no queue at Notoriannis that day 😂 It's a shame it was left to rot, I was wondering how many rats ran out when they started the demolition, and where they went????
waterloo road and bond street all need demolished the south end off blackpool is so run down and is eye shore why spend all the money to the tower end and north end shame
it is always nice to see you in the beginning and the end of the video, you are so smart, nice girl you are, that's for sure,.....oh, yeah Friday food reviews, in 3 days, please pick, taco bell in Blackpool, thank you,........marius(punk rules).
