Awww thank you! I post about ereaders and books and pretty much exclusively read on them so you’ll see them all the time in my videos :) thanks for watching!!!
Received my Colorsoft Kindle yesterday and am very happy with it, the color screen is better than I was expecting, better than other color e-readers I've seen and the online reviews seem to agree too. My unit also has that narrow, slight yellowish tinge at the bottom of the screen. Honestly, it's hardly noticeable and disappears when you turn up the warm light setting a few notches, it's not a problem with me. I think it's a hardware issue and common to all the units therefore unlikely correctable via a software update. Overall, I'm delighted with my Colorsoft Kindle.
I'm glad you love it! Is yours extremely fingerprint-prone? I need to get a skin or something to help with that since it seems to be only an issue on the front side!
@SummerSayre Ugh, the fingerprints! I'm a spoiled Oasis user. With the page turn buttons, you never had to touch the screen unless you were changing settings or books. I'd pick my next book, clean the screen, and then be good until the next one. I've cleaned the Colorsoft 3 times already.
@@SummerSayre Yeah it is a bit, I have a case arriving tomorrow for it, a cheapie one, one of the offbrand ones. I also have an Oasis Kindle which I'm keeping since that is the gold standard for black and white e-readers.

It’s really not horrible on mine but now that I know it’s there I can’t get past it. And paying $300 for a device that should be clear, it’s very disappointing that it’s not. Have you heard what’s causing the yellow tint ?
As near as I can tell, all Colorsofts, and even the new Paperwhites, have the issue. Amazon is telling a few people that they are planning a software fix (I suspect this is a hardware problem, but maybe software can help minimize it). As to what's causing it, it's clearly a lighting issue, since if you turn the lighting off, it the problem vanishes.

@@SummerSayre Sadly it seems that every device, mine too, has the issue, including the latest Paperwhites. I suspect those that say they don't have it just don't know exactly what to look for. Amazon has told some people they're planning a software update to address this. Is it fixable that way? I guess we'll see! Other than this issue, and the fact that it's very dark with the brightness completely off (which will make it less nice outdoors vs a B&W Kindle), it's a very nice device!
@@glauer42 Oh no! Not the paperwhites too?! I saw they said they were sending out an update so I guess we'll see if that fixes it! I can't wait to use it in more lighting and see how it is in the morning! Do you think you'll replace yours?
@@SummerSayre Thanks for replying! Since I'm coming from an 8 year old Oasis (which also has weird problems that were so bad, they never made another Kindle with a charging cover!), I don't see the need to send it back just yet. I'm fairly convinced all Colorsofts, and the current crop of Paperwhites have the problem. It is possible that with software they have some control over the lighting and can minimize the issue. Have to wait it out!
I must be completely blind. I don’t see any yellow in mine or anyone else’s. Where???? People on FB are losing their minds over this non existent yellow line.

I see you for that yellow tinge at the bottom too. Does it not bother you?
It didn't bother me while filming but now that I've had a bit more time with it, now that I've seen it, I can't unsee. I chatted Amazon and they're sending a replacement!
I love it
Yay!!
I just downloaded Bloodguard
Let me know if it’s good!!!
I must be completely blind. I don’t see any yellow in mine or anyone else’s. Where???? People on FB are losing their minds over this non existent yellow line.
I feel like it’s very faint on mine. I’ve seen much worse - it’s more visible on some units than others! Apparently they’re working on a fix
Every day I think more intensely that we are losing our capacity for criticism...
The product has gone on sale with a design and manufacturing defect in the screen, and people, as if it were a gift from God, justify and accept it... in exchange for $280.
The complacency of this era will be worthy of study in the future.
(I'm not saying this because of your video, I'm saying it because of the comments on this and other social networks... the sectarianism with manufacturers, politics, ideas... is abhorrent)
I’m definitely getting a replacement and I hear others are too… but I also run a book/ereader TH-cam channel so it’s not for everyone!
Why are people so obsessed with this the colours are horrible 😂
The colors are meant to be more muted, not vibrant like an iPad… but I think if they want more vibrant just use a different device 🥰
way overpriced. The only thing i can see this is goof for would be reading comics which i don’t do.
One of the main reasons I'm holding off on buying Kobo or the Kindle colors
I wonder if they'll bring this tech to the basic and other devices or leave it on this one!
Definitely interesting to see the roll-out..
@@SummerSayre I dont see a diff in the two at all. I honestly think the Kobo is better than ge Kindle Color and its cheaper
@@currangill430 I think the camera picks up different things than in real life - in real life I can see a difference - I wish I could broadcast with my eyes! But... I do love the Kobo!!!
Thanks for your review. It was thorough and very visual. 🤌🏾🥰
Thanks for watching! I’ll have a full review out soon :)
