A lot of people don't give the og xbox credit nor the psp as many of them are super cheap. the problem is that in my country the og xbox sold very few and no has any... heck no one has any original xbox games to sell anymore either... it is just rare to get overall.
I've noticed this trend myself. This year, I've checked out a bunch of thrift stores and found a lot of consoles and games like Wii, DS, PSP, GBA, PS3, Xbox, Xbox 360, and PS2. The prices for rare items seem to be climbing, and it's common to see thrift stores marking up games well above what they're worth. For instance, I spotted Kirby Dreamland for the original Game Boy cart only priced at $80, and surprisingly, someone actually bought it. It seems like many people donate these items thinking their kids have outgrown them, but those looking to resell might be in for a shock as thrift stores increasingly align their prices with market value. Unfortunately, a lot of these games and consoles are untested, and there's no option for refunds.
The Xbox is the most underrated console of all time. Replace the fan and it’s a beast that purrs. It’s the main system I collect cross platform games for.
No the casual market is not strong enough. No one wants to play these games let alone spend this much money. As said in your point; I usually look if there’s a steam or switch version and do a innie minnie mini moo, Only certain games and even then I’m like almost done get love from other older consoles. For example, I’d buy fable for cheap for 9.99 on original Xbox but if there’s a sale on steam and it’s a remastered. Killer 7 also, there’s a steam version. However viewtiful Joe, ok maybe because well it’s not around. I wanted to buy lollipop and give the ps3 some love. However, most are on steam for dirt cheap; I got homefront for 1.99. I was looking at lollipop chainsaw and was like jeeez 70$ and there’s a remake. Hard pass.
People are starting to realize that buying cartdirges is not really what matters. You can download any rom file and play it on a jailbroken console and have the exact experience. No point paying extorsion prices for software you can download FOR FREE.
Man, the og Xbox games are a lot cheaper than PS2, I just realized that so I'm going after those. I want them on PS2, but the price of some of those are ridiculously over priced. I did happen to find Predator Concrete Jungle xbox cib for 20 bucks at a pawn shop so that definitely was a win on that. I just wish that prices would start going down so it would be easier to collect.
I wanna state that I’m an Xbox fan boy there is an argument to be made that OG Xbox has better performance over PS2 and GameCube, now I know that’s not the case for every single game but for most part the games they share play better and look better on OG Xbox. I would also like to add that the OG Xbox versions of those games tend to be cheaper also I know not in every case but for the most part. I sold all my cube games if I could play them on OG Xbox.
I think ps3 should be on everyones radar soon i don't think Sony will keep the servers up much longer they already tried once and i think they will do it again soon but not backtrack so get ps3 before it gets crazy
I think im putting retro game collection on the back burner this year, its all about the discount and blowout prices for switch games in 2025!
Maybe not the switch 2 will have backwards compatibility and the switch games might go up
@@Taco117. That is a great point, could happen for sure! But thats why Im getting as many as I can before switch 2 comes out..

Don’t give them ideas on Xbox bro. They might ruin that market too.

I was buying up a lot of stuff in like 2015-2018 and just holding for a long time. I got in before the recent boost and I expect there will be more.

I love this channel
i think you underestimate the persistence of resellers in other areas and underestimate those local to you

I can't find GameCube games for shit where I'm at. At most my retro game stores will have a handful. And the Goodwill's near me have nothing, always.

Yes some games on the original Xbox does play way much better then PS2/ GameCube it's not even a argument when it's facts
@ well I say argument cause honestly I’ve barely touched the ps2 outside of kingdom hearts
