Well, the tv show has managed to eclipse the film for me. Which seems crazy because of the special place the film has had in my life for so many years as a favourite. But when I think of IWTV, I'll think of this show and the way its characters were portrayed. Even though its not even finished yet, its the definitive version for me. This IS Lestat, Louis and Claudia (although Kirsten's performance can't ever be forgotten, its too good).
Great twists and turns for people who thought we knew what was supposed to happen. It really added another layer of tragedy to the whole situation. D:
And sorry, I'm not trying to spam anyone. I was working on this before my HOTD video. lol.

hollllly shhiiiiiit! this is a masterpiece. the gothic mood it evokes!! the way you crafted this mv with the artistic flair that rivals the shows aesthetic. you captured the whirlwind, larger than life toxic love affair so perfectly. and i agree with you, as a lifelong movie fan the show has surpassed it and this is the definitive adaptation for me as well. thank you for this brilliant tribute, will be rewatching it for the forseeable future

That's cool I managed to capture some of the Gothic mood of the series, yay! 😭I wasn't even sure I succeeded on that front. The show really did surpass my expectations. I have not loved a show like this since days of like Rome and GOT season 1. Just so enjoyable from start to finish. And such fresh characters despite coming from an old book. Thank you again! Wow, WOOOW, this was mindblowing! Really, i am in shock 😶 like all the scenes together and the voiceovers, it shows their relationship perfectly, and the song change at the end was unespected, but great idea! I felt like it showed a different side of their relationship! Truly *outstanding* video! 😍

I was going to change the video title so the song change wouldn't be so obvious, but I think people know that I like to switch the song a lot of the times. If there is some kind of musical device in a show, then its happening! I'm glad you noticed the difference in tone between the song change, that was my intention. To show more of the toxicity in the first half, and then more of the yearning and love in the second half. or something like that! And I think it was more fitting to the atmosphere of the dance scenes. So phew, it seems the message is getting across :D Thanks again!!!! ❤

omggg I had to rewatch this several times to appreciate all the parallels. You are a GENIUS! I loved the opening tape with the dialogues, how intense you edited to the first song, and then flawlessly transitioned into the next one!! and then that last bit was just dreamlike and bittersweet. the lyrics matched so well every time. Stunning work

Honestly the way they shot this show with the camera made it very easy for me to find the transitions and do an editing style that I like the best, but can't always do. sorry for all the comments but i just realized some of your editing in this reminds me of the show How To Get Away With Murder! idk if you've seen it. like the part at 0:22 - 0:26. the show did that type of stuff during flashbacks and whatnot. idk much about editing so maybe its not a big deal but ive never seen it in fan video edits before, very cool :D
the more i keep watching this the more i wanna analyze and talk about it lol. this makes me want to start editing again!
Oh no worries!! I'm happy my video makes you want to discuss stuff! No, I've never watched the show! But that's interesting and cool to hear that I did the same as them! Maybe its not too popular an effect to use in editing now days? I'm not sure, as the vidding community style seems to change a lot. Well.... people have their little niches here and there. Like there is the "aesthetic" kind of club, then the "using the action audio in time with the music" sort of club, and just the straight "clean cut edit" club.
I used to use "velocity" (which is how you speed it up. well you probably already know, since you used to edit) in my super old videos (like my 'Innocence lost to cesare/lucrezia" vid), and then because this show has SO MANY great scenes of the camera panning across rooms and stuff, it just felt totally natural to piece them together and create a sort of transition. Its really fun to do. :O
That's so cool I might inspire you to start editing again. You totally should! what would do you like to edit? anime? I really respect people who can edit anime, that is harder to do imo. You should come back and edit IWTV. :D
Actually I want to add...it was really hard to resist not filling the whole video with clip editing like that. As there were so many more scenes to use. But I thought it might be too jarring. But its nice to hear people actually like it. lol.
@@rabbitmaze i used to make a few avatar and attack on titan edits but i lost passion for editing over time. i was still a beginner at it. this was before 2020 when video edits seemed to become more popular and everyone started using crazy stroke-like transitions that's all over Instagram now hahaha. i'm thinking of continuing my ideas for those two shows and maybe make an edit or two for iwtv as well :) i have a whole list of perfect songs to use but i never get around to it. i always get tired trying to figure out what clips i want to use
@@sittingturtleduck ah I see, I see. Those edits can be enjoyable to watch, but I understand. Well, I hope you do come back! Editing is such a fun hobby, but only when you don't lose yourself to some of the pressures that might come up with sharing it with an audience. Having so many perfect songs but not using them....i think I would have editing on my mind all the time! Well I definitely encourage you to try open up a project and see what happens. Yes sometimes finding the right clips can be tricky, but it might mean the song or idea you have isn't inspiring enough for you. Or maybe you could start by putting a few audio clips along the track to get an idea of where the story in your video starts and ends. I have subbed for the future video you might release. :D
@@rabbitmaze Putting audio clips in first sounds like a great idea and I did that in the past. I actually always enjoyed the audio editing aspect but got tired with the actual video elements...maybe that's a sign I should just do something with audio editing haha!

I only recently watched IWTV (after like a dozen of vampire movies and series haha) and YT suggested me this video. Incredible video, with one of my favourite Placebo songs AND the Florence song? Yeah man. I just love your work so so much, and I am hoping you gonna vid for second season as well.
