We learned that it’s not easy to make a video in our “hometown”. Unlike most destinations, we have so many opinions and what we like and don’t like. So we stuck with the classics. Scottsdale’s Spring Training, Frank Lloyd Wright’s Taliesin West and the Garden Concert Series at the Desert Botanical Gardens.
These are three venues we have been to, but never really explored. That’s what makes sharing our experiences with the KYD community so special. We’re also reminded of all the things to do in our backyard. What’s in your background? Perhaps things you’ve known about for decades, but haven’t taken the time to visit. I love how Tricia looks at Marc when he’s talking. That looks shows how much she adores her husband. I wish all couples still looked at each other after 3 kids and over 17 years together. It’s absolutely beautiful.

I'm addicted to this channel now... Recently bought a new truck and soon the trailer will be here. I have learned so many new things and I expect to make some of the same mistakes... So thanks to Marc and Tricia for the multiple seasons of experience to learn from.

Our family has a couple of vacation houses in Scottsdale about 4 blocks from SF Giants Spring Training Stadium & the whole family "migrates" south in shifts to enjoy that wonderful event. Noticed when I watched your video I realized that I had seen your camp yesterday morning when I was on Patrol in the Park. I drive through there on a regular basis and recognized the area and remembered seeing you with your trailer. Must have moved on as camp was empty this morning. Safe travels.
I’ve been to the Imperial Hotel in Tokyo back in 2010, I’d have to say it is the nicest hotel I’ve ever been to. Inside the hotel lobby is a scaled model of the original Frank Lloyd Wright version, absolutely beautiful! Love your videos! You guys are awesome!

When I lived in Victoria, BC they started a program called Be A Tourist In Your Own Hometown. Once a year there would be a week where there would be discounted admission to exhibits and sites in order to get the locals to see what was available in their hometown. As far as I know it is still going.
Oil/filter change for me at my Ford dealer for my F150 takes 35-60 minutes. Includes tire rotation, checking air in tires, brake inspection, fluids fill, other items on their checklist. Cost is $39 minus $10 coupon so $29.

Did Alaska last summer, take a look at Amsoil’s oil bypass system. I run it on my ‘17 Duramax, it’s a must for an 8200 mile road trip to Alaska and back. Great peace of mind.

Great episode and FYI a speed co or a B-line lube can do the oil sample on site for $10 to $15 and you should run it at least every other oil change it’s like a physical for your engine

I would strongly recommend that since you use your truck for every thing that you should follow the manufacturers maintenance guidelines. Piece of mind!
I don't know Bob. I've learned that recommendations are at the lowest common denominator. I think the best piece of mind is knowing exactly what's in my oil. How much metal and if there is anything in there that should be. We'll see what the test results say. The first one is the engine breaking in, but the second test should be interesting.
LOVE Blackstone labs, I use it on all my vehicles and have dramatically extended my oil changes. Went from 5k oil changes to 7.5 K on a 7.3 diesel. And From 10K on my car to 12K. That adds up. Not to mention the peace of mind of knowing a vehicle is running as its supposed to.
Wonderful and interesting things to do in Arizona.....who knew? The desert in bloom captured beautifully..... very nice! Have to go back someday. All I can remember from Arizona was my short stay training at Fort Huachuca and the heat! Thanks guys for sharing. Again what a wonderful video, you always expertly capture all the beautiful surroundings. Makes me feel I am with you enjoying the experience.

I'm a PM field tech for a Caterpillar dealer, I change oil and filters and inspect heavy equipment out on jobsites at night. And the biggest thing we do is oil samples. They are very critical in this line of work. I would keep it up it tells a lot. Especially like you said about extending your oil changes. I really enjoy your videos, keep up the awesome work. You have an awesome looking family. Safe travels, maybe we'll see you on the road someday.

I loved the part about the tour guide cause after touring the John Wayne, then it was just the birth house now there's a big museum there too here in Iowa, but anyway I'd toured twice with different people and because the first tour guide was so good I wanted to tour it again with which ever other kid hadn't been with me the first time. You could tell the first one loved taking you through and prided herself in knowing everything she could about the man. The second time I felt like I was doing the guide haha.

I have been wanting to attend the Barrett Jackson auction for years, might make it next year with a vehicle to sell if its ready. FYI on the baseball game you were at, the Royals are based in Kansas City Missouri. That was probably the best weather they have played in this season, postponed this weekend games due to snow. Winter just wont go away here in the Midwest? We are so ready to get camping. Thanks for the great videos and tips on places to visit.

We just stayed in Mesa for 2 weeks last month and found ourselves in Scottsdale a lot! We loved the March weather there and how much there was to do in the Phoenix area. We went to a couple of spring training games of our hometown team, and a practice too! We really enjoyed the area, needed more time there, and loved staying at The Lost Dutchman State Park a few days too!! We can't wait to go back :)
We saw that organ player too at the last spring training game between the Diamondbacks and the Indians at Chase Field, and Goldschmidt signed baseballs before the game for our kids too! It was such a cool experience!!! Chase Field was really nice and the activities and playground they had on the second floor for kids was awesome!
I love Frank Lloyd Wright’s homes (Wright himself not so much). I have made special trips to Fallingwater and Taliesin (in Wisconsin - even went to his gravesite there). Taliesin West is the third one on my list. Thank you for sharing your visit there.
