Hi! Big fan of XG here. So for a bit of context, XG means Xtraordinary Girls and they are a global girl group, which is the reason their songs are entirely in English. There are 7 members and they debuted this year in March with a title track called Tippy Toes and they had a comeback called Mascara. The girls are all very young, Cocona for example was born in 05 (she's the youngest). So what they've been doing now is releasing videos of their vocal line and their rap line (which is the video you saw) to showcase their talents. Besides this video, there is a predebut XG Tape (XG Tape #1) that only features Jurin and Harvey. I hope you get into the group bc they are absolutely amazing!

Yes these girls are amazing and they are super young : Cocona is 16 almost 17, Maya is 17, Harvey is 19 and Jurin is 20. They only have two MVs (I think) which are Tippy toes and Mascara. Also you should check Chill Bill by Jurin and Harvey.

yes yes they were trained under a kpop agency but they're all japanese members and the group's goal is to be known internationally which is why they're all trilingual~
That’s not quite accurate either. They’re at least PARTIALLY kpop, at the very least. They’re Japanese, yes. But they’re basically formed and trained under the kpop system. They chose to be based in SK and are promoting in SK music shows and are learning/rapping in Korean. So all 3 things can be true-they’re a Japanese group, a kpop group, and an international group. I wouldn’t rule out them releasing music in Korean in the future, either.

They did a live test video for each girl where they are doing it live in a practice room. I actually enjoy those videos more than the video shoots. You can see all of their each swag and presence. Especially Maya, loved hers the most. You don’t get to see their charm as much in the video shoot because you can tell they have them a concept. So I like seeing their rawness. Pleaseee check it out. And I like how they added the lyrics on screen so you can easily see them switching from the different languages. This has to be one of the best cyphers I’ve experienced lol

XG is a Japanese group but formed as a "global group", so the songs are entirely in English, although in some moments Cocona says a few words in Japanese and even in Korean in Xypher. Which of course everything is pretty perfect!

Oh and another curiosity is that the wolf represents XG and as a pack leader is called alpha, they decided that the fandom name would be ALPHAZ and that's how the fans identify themselves! :)

And they are actually all Japanese - but they've promoted on all the Korean TV Kpop shows (got a few wins, too) "Tippy Toes" was their debut, "Mascara" was their 1st comeback.
