It was better when the reviewing officer were questioning why his finger prints were on the shell casing and he retold the story…and the laughing officer said that’s the best story I ever heard…it’s a shame we have to lock you for it.
When you start with Elmore Leonard’s books, interview actual US Marshals, then add in actual news stories from that region, you get great dialogue. The actors’ delivery is perfect.
Two sets of lines that basically sum up the entirety of "Justified" are: "He pulled first. I shot him." and "This is Deputy U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens, I'm gonna' need an ambulance..........and a coroner. "
One of my favourite lines, missed in this compendium, is from Deputy Gutterson: "Can’t carry a tune. I don’t know how to shoot a basketball, and my handwriting is barely legible. But I don’t miss."
If I allow myself to be sentimental, despite all that has occurred, there is one thing that I wander back to….we dug coal together….that’s right. It’s so simple yet so powerful for it’s the entire crux of Raylan & Boyd’s relationship. No matter how much Raylan wanted to hate Boyd & forget his existence, he never can due to that inseparable bond they share. It’s what makes them the best frenemies on TV ever. It’s also a top 5 final line for a TV series.
I seldom laugh outloud when watching TV, but it's a habit with this series. I'd buy a small booklet with these lines in it. My favorite, hard to say, but the comment about being able to see Boyd in the dark because his teeth are so white, nearly threw my back out!!! Love this series.
"I always figured you for a special kind of idiot, Dewey Crowe. But what you have done in the past 12 hours is light years beyond any stupidity even I thought you were capable of." 🤣😂
100% agree.... He had some of the best quips in the show... Home and Gutterson... I LOVED when Gutterson was talking to Colt on the phone when they were pinned down by him and a sniper and while on the phone Gutterson tells him he's writing a book and at one point Gutterson pisses colt off about being a heroin junkie and Colt responds with " well how about you put that character in a bar with 4 army rangers and see who is sent to the hospital " Gutterson responds with " this book isn't a fantasy " 😂😂😂 the quick snap back was perfect because both of them KNEW that the book was bulls hit but they didn't let on that they knew it.... So it worked really well.
Simply an all time great series. I think overlooked by many is maybe my favorite scene where Art catches the old man at the airport----the entire scene is insightful, reflective, historical, funny, warm and sweet---the line "Come on chief there's room for both of us" I have a great fondness for that scene
"Next one's comin' faster..." "Use it or throw it away." "Can't carry a tune, I don't know how to shoot a basketball and my handwriting is barely legible... But I don't miss."
Limehouse: Marshal, you are one strange piece of chicken. Tim: [After Raylan lays his business card on the bar] Silver lining, you keep that card on you, if the cops ever find you in a shallow grave, they know to give us a call. Loretta: Marshal, do I strike you in any way as a Van Halen fan?
It's pretty similar, but a streamlined version of dialogue in Good Will Hunting. "I couldn't paint you a picture, I probably can't hit the ball out of Fenway and I can't play the piano." Skylar responding, "But you can do my outcome paper in under an hour." Will response, "Right, well, I mean when it came to stuff like that I could always just play."
Raylan Givens: If you're going to talk, I'll put you in the trunk and drive myself. And: Raylan: Do you know where I’m from? Bank robber: No. Raylan: I’m from Harlan county and down there we know the difference between dynamite and road flares.
There are so many better lines from the series. That first season was packed with great writing. Even in that prisoner hostage scene. So many hostage scenes have been on TV, and they did this one great with lines like "Well if that don't cool things down and heat things up at the same time" or "Now I really don't want that pointed at my neck." (paraphrasing from memory)
They included the rocket launcher line from Bulletville, but left out "What are you doing Boyd" "I'm gonna go kill the men that killed my daddy" "Boyd, you came here to kill your daddy" "Well that's different"
@trevornott2488 And it sucked. No two ways about it. Either they couldn't get any of the original writers, or they could but they all had strokes 'tween the old series and this one...
"Have you ever heard that a whisper will get you a hell of a lot further than a roar?"
Missed my favorite line. When he throws the bullet at Duffy and says the next one is coming a lot faster.
It was better when the reviewing officer were questioning why his finger prints were on the shell casing and he retold the story…and the laughing officer said that’s the best story I ever heard…it’s a shame we have to lock you for it.
"You wanted to get hit in the front, you should've run toward me" always gets a good chuckle from me
I had to pause so I could finish laughing
That was the one I was looking for. The best single line in the series.
There were so many one liners in that show, it would an hour to play them all. Greatest TV show ever.
My favorite is when Boyd says something to the effect of, "I've been called many things, inarticulate aint one of them."
This is one of my favourite shows ever.
With choo choo the you're not following me conversation...brilliant
When you start with Elmore Leonard’s books, interview actual US Marshals, then add in actual news stories from that region, you get great dialogue. The actors’ delivery is perfect.
I was wondering where it comes from
I've been accused of being a lot of things, inarticulate is not one of them - Boyd Crowder
Wonderful line that should’ve made the list! That one plus, “I will NOT take your compliment after taking your insult”
My favorite line in the show!
Quarles, laughing maniaclly: "it's a piggy bank!"
That wheeze whistle laugh!
I love the one where the guy is running and Raylan hits the guy with shovel and after he goes down he says “stop US Marshalls”
Two sets of lines that basically sum up the entirety of "Justified" are:
"He pulled first. I shot him." and
"This is Deputy U.S. Marshal Raylan Givens, I'm gonna' need an ambulance..........and a coroner. "
*Calls 911*
This is Raylan Givens...Yeah, Ambulance. Yeah the usual
One of my favourite lines, missed in this compendium, is from Deputy Gutterson: "Can’t carry a tune. I don’t know how to shoot a basketball, and my handwriting is barely legible. But I don’t miss."
Raylan, you try to hide it, but you are the angriest man I have ever met.
Stone cold start!
So many one great liners out of the entire series it's hard to pick a favorite
The best one was, "I disarmed him," when the guy literally had his arm cut off with gun in hand.
This is what the sequel series was missing. Quality dialogue!!
When he is at his motel talking to wynonna and semi goes by and honks horn and he says " I pay extra for that" best improved line ever
It also sold Ava's death to Boyd. It was well played by Raylan, but gave Boyd a nice send off
Two sides of the same coin.
That line gets me every time.
LMAO - - "Your teeth glow in the dark..."
The line and delivery are killing me
It's funny cause it's true!
But what you have done in the past 12 hours is light years beyond any stupidity even I thought you were capable of." 🤣😂
"Because I didn't order assholes with my whiskey"
The somewhere he read that "Garden of assholes" line was in an Elmore Leonard book.
None from Art? He had the single best line in the whole series. It started with "The first thing we're gonna do is recognize this guy is awesome ... "
Art was a great character
100% agree.... He had some of the best quips in the show... Home and Gutterson... I LOVED when Gutterson was talking to Colt on the phone when they were pinned down by him and a sniper and while on the phone Gutterson tells him he's writing a book and at one point Gutterson pisses colt off about being a heroin junkie and Colt responds with " well how about you put that character in a bar with 4 army rangers and see who is sent to the hospital "

"I been accused o' bein' a lot of things, inarticulate ain't one."
How is that line not here?
They forgot the one where Raylan whops that guy in the face with the shovel, then says quietly, "Stop, U.S. Marshalls."
That one was really funny 😂
LOL I love that scene
Halt,US Marshals
"We dug coal together" simple, sweet and concise.
"The sooner we get to it, the sooner we get through it. No point to lay in the unpleasantness." - Raylan to Nicky Augustine in the Limo
"Jesus, I hope I go that right"
Simply an all time great series. I think overlooked by many is maybe my favorite scene where Art catches the old man at the airport----the entire scene is insightful, reflective, historical, funny, warm and sweet---the line "Come on chief there's room for both of us" I have a great fondness for that scene
"Next one's comin' faster..."
"Use it or throw it away."
"Can't carry a tune, I don't know how to shoot a basketball and my handwriting is barely legible... But I don't miss."
perfect
Limehouse: Marshal, you are one strange piece of chicken.
Tim: [After Raylan lays his business card on the bar] Silver lining, you keep that card on you, if the cops ever find you in a shallow grave, they know to give us a call.
Loretta: Marshal, do I strike you in any way as a Van Halen fan?
How about Tim’s line: I can't carry a tune. I don't know how to shoot a basketball and my handwriting is, uh, barely legible. But I don't miss.
Dewey Crowe needs his own show!!
You guys missed the "Next one comes faster" quote. 😅
Greatest show ever.
How you can do this list and leave off "The next one will be coming a lot faster.", is beyond me!!
GOATED SHOW GOATED LINES
Well I guess this hotel takes that non smoking policy pretty seriously Mr Duffy
How could they not include Art’s lines about how the guy they were pursuing was “awesome”?
Raylan Givens: If you're going to talk, I'll put you in the trunk and drive myself.
And:
Raylan: Do you know where I’m from?
Bank robber: No.
Raylan: I’m from Harlan county and down there we know the difference between dynamite and road flares.
My favorite part of this show is sometimes it’ll stop and be like man the writing is so good we actually have to address it.
There are so many better lines from the series. That first season was packed with great writing. Even in that prisoner hostage scene. So many hostage scenes have been on TV, and they did this one great with lines like "Well if that don't cool things down and heat things up at the same time" or "Now I really don't want that pointed at my neck." your teeth glow in the dark is such a funny line.
Justified is one of best cop dramas I've seen, awesome script and dark humour. I can only compare it to Bosch in its talent.
Y'all gotta upload the why wait scene with quarrels and raylan in the bar when he shoots a hole in the rood
boyd always had the best lines and delivery
You mean I have four kidneys? 😂😭
No, 'Lookie Here - Next one's comin' faster'? for shame! That was probably the best line in all shows that year.
The outlaw speech was the best
This outlaw bizness is hard, ain't it boys?
"Next one's coming faster" was missed.
Good writers!
They left out that line about “I didn’t order assholes with my whiskey.”
That first one is an all-timer.
The first line in the video was used twice that I can remember in the show. It is not really all that. But I guess some people like it a lot.
"Your teeth glow in the dark" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
They need to do a (one off) Film of Justified
You know they just put out an entire new Justified series right?
@trevornott2488 And it sucked. No two ways about it. Either they couldn't get any of the original writers, or they could but they all had strokes 'tween the old series and this one...
@@chaburchak They used a Leonard book for that one and it's good. Just not in Kentucky, so it misses that flavor. Great characters still.
Where is "the next one's coming faster" (after tossing a bullet at Wynn)??????
“Read your Bible, as interpreted by experts.” Missed that one.
"...if you will allow the contraction as one". Articulate.
to be Truly Justified Tim needs to go on Fallout show
Lol and not a single one from City Primeval because they know there isn't any good dialogue.
you made one of the speeches too short. You should of started with the conquistadors speech. and maybe add it's in the glass.
Terrible editing. Obviously not a fan
Your teeth glow in the dark...hahaha
The late Elmore Leonard was the world champion of badass one-liners.
