Dear Aakash sir greetings from my side😊!!
You just don't know that you just gave me new perception of seeing or viewing things without judging them!! From now on, I am not able to judge anything just because now I understand the concept of manifest and latent function!!!
From now on I'm more biased towards anything!!!
Thank you very much akash sir!!
This thing just don't apply to only subjective knowledge but rather in real life !! It's very useful also!!
    Thank you sir😊🙇🏻

See.... I have explained about unanticipated consequences in the comments below.
For types of questions asked on merton, you need to see the PYQs.

    Good Evening Sir,
in 2019, upsc had asked que regarding difference between unanticipated consequences and latent functions with example
through Ritzer I got to know that unanticipated consequences include latent function, latent dysfunction and non function
here I can give example related to latent dysfunction but couldn't think of any example related to nonfunction
so,sir, could you please help me with it.

    • @kaarwan-e-upsc

Hello dear... Think along these lines
Unanticipated - which was not intended or deliberate and hence latent
      Plus
Consequences - which could be good and bad
Therefore unanticipated consequences could involve both latent functions and latent dysfunctions.
      Eg. Corruption
Latent function - speed work by Red Tape Bureaucracy Or how the Black money floating in the Indian economy was cited as one of the reason for reduced impact of 2007-08 recession on India due to ample liquidity in the economy on account of black money
Latent Dysfunction- Tension Or anxiety among the corrupt ( how to hide black money)
Now latent non function here could be lots and lots of things as there are no consequences. So it's redundant. One aspect (or social reality like corruption) may be non-functional / not linked to huge number of aspects/multiple levels of social reality.
Let's say Corruption is non functional to death of Osama ( individual level), rising divorce rates ( institutional level) or changing values of society (societal level).
Since social reality is infinite... One aspect of social reality might be non functional/not linked to infinite aspects of this social reality!!

Thank u sir . If possible tell also how can question be framed. And sir why it is hard to revise and think about it.

      @kaarwan-e-upsc  ปีที่แล้ว +1

See PYQs related to topics we have covered uptill now, you will get an idea as to How UPSC frames the questions... For revision, it depends on individual... I would say JUST REVISE... There is no particular strategy here!!
