38 Special is an awesome rabbit hole to go down: Caught up in you Somebody like you Like no other night Fantasy girl Rockin' into the night Wild eyed southern boys If I'd been the one Back where you belong Teacher, Teacher But to name a few! Enjoy and you also might want to check out Night Ranger and REO Speedwagon they are awesome groups from the same time period..
I'm bored at work so I'm going through all your older reactions (Thanks for keeping me awake!). .38 Special is southern rock. Other key groups in that genre are Lynard Skynard, Allman Brothers, ZZTopp, The Doobie Brothers, Marshall Tucker band, and Charlie Daniels Band. Of course, there are others that are too numerous to mention but they're a good start to dive into the realm of Southern Rock.
LoL the hair.. It is the law if you don't have long hair they won't let you in the rock club.. and you get 30 lashes 😜 my hair is way longer than that.. because Im 6ft5 300lbs I don't want any lashes 🤘 38 special is ok just a little burnt out with them because every dive bar I played in the last 40 years this song is either on the jukebox or it was requested we play it. Hugely popular song I retired in 2019 after my wife passed but I'm sure what ever bands playing will get it requested or George thorogood I drink alone. 😜
Absolutely. And plus it would make the quality of the music that we hear a lot less echoey with a better frequency range and better low-end. This music is just too good to hear through crappy speakers.
Love your energy and vibe, if you want to get the best music for your reactions i would go with the studio versions though. some of the older bands are really good live , they wanted the audience to hear the music that they fell in love with, which was the studio version. If you want a voice and passion in a song Look for Shinedown "save me " m one of the best voices in modern music period. Keep up the great retractions.
💯 agree. It seems like it always works better when reactors cover the studio cut first because you hear it with really good Fidelity and the way they wanted you to hear it and the way that we heard it growing up on the radio and on the record albums. And then if you like it, go watch a live version. But on the other hand, I can tell that she really likes reacting to the styles that they have in the way they look and all that so that might be kind of a hard sell to just do the audio track.
Well 38 Special is my favorite band. But I'm am in the minority. The band has 2 singers. Don Barnes sings here and all the radio friendly songs. I'm all more partial to the southern rock side of the band with songs sung by Donnie Van Zant. My suggestions always fall under these songs like Stone Cold Believer, Bring It On, Back Door Stranger, Back On The Track, Rebel To Rebel which is dedicated to his brother Ronnie from Skynyrd that died in the 1977 plane crash
Your reactions are so fun, lol. I saw them in high school around this time and it was a really loud fun hard-rocking concert. I thought they were good but my younger sister just loved them, them and Nazareth were all she blasted on her stereo for a while. I think the one that really really got to her was their hit Rock and Roll Fantasy. It's really fun and has some great imagery in it for sure. I was reading some comments before I watched it and I saw several other people comment about Lynyrd Skynyrd, also from Florida. They were the kings of southern rock and one of the greatest bands ever in the history of rock music. After several albums, there was a tragic plane crash in 1977 that ended it all. But they have several albums with so many incredible songs and tons of hits from mind-blowing guitar anthems like Freebird and others to just beautiful beautiful ballads like Tuesday's Gone and The Ballad Of Curtis Loew. And everything in-between. Swamp Music is so damn funky and I can easily see you bopping along to it.
I was so bored. You are just what I needed. Great energy, I have two grown boys, never blessed with a daughter, if I was I would hope she would be like you. Be Well
First time on your channel and I enjoyed your energy and enthusiasm very much!! If you don't mind a song suggestion for a future reaction I would recommend "White Queen" by Queen at the Hammersmith Odeon 1975! It's a blast!! Best wishes to you for much success on your channel!!!
I see in other comments the band Lynyrd Skynyrd is mentioned. If you want to experience the fathers of southern rock it's Skynyrd. A group of amazing musicians with a legendary lead singed/ songwriter. There's a version of Skynyrd still performing that features the last surviving member of the original band when his health permits. Worth your time, try Simple Man, Sweet Home Alabama or Free Bird.
Absolutely. Lynyrd Skynyrd is not only amazing but they are iconic in the halls of rock history. And they have such a rich catalog that is all over the map. I would strongly suggest covering the studio cuts first but I don't know if that will happen. But Britt, if you read this and end up doing any Lynyrd Skynyrd, PLEASE do not do anything after the 1977 plane crash which tragically ended it all. But they have several amazing albums before that with tons of material to choose from with so many hits. They are mind-blowing. There is a later version of it but it seriously is nothing more than a tribute band, nothing like the real thing.
Been a fan or theirs since they first hit the airwaves back in the day. There are plenty more great songs in their portfolio, do check out more. "IF I'D BEEN THE ONE" th-cam.com/video/ZRVXOxAjR8w/w-d-xo.html is a banger. I'll never steer you wrong.

38 Special from my hometown.. Along with Lynyrd Skynyrd , if you haven't checked them out it's a must ..thanks from FL .. love your style Britt
I just saw these guys in concert about 6 months ago. They are still so great!
The dude with the hat playing guitar looks a lot like the lead man for Lynyrd Skynyrd. And rightfully so because that's his brother. 😁

Seen 38 Special ( warm up band) , Lynyrd Skynyrd , Marshall Tucker band in concert. That was the era for long hair 😂
Southern rock is my favorite genre. Glad you liked it
Nothing not to like about their music and performance.

As a 50 year old profoundly dyslexic thank out for having the backward CC on. Literally read a lyric I had wrong all these years. Was a good moment.
OK now YOU GOT TA GET HEAD PHONES ..to get the music

Southern rock was so good back then. It was about jamming!
A great Southern Rock band - and one of the few who had TWO drummers on the stage.
You should have waay more comments with 38 Special. Great 80s band.
Girl, your beauty matches your personality!!!!!
🥹🥹 you’re too kind

One of my favorites also. I wore this cassette out cruising around in my Monte Carlo in the early 80s as a high schooler.
Yep long hair from the late 60's-90's

My favorite of theirs is If I'd Been the One! Great band!!
Used to love to dance to this song.

Skynyrd, 38 Special and Molly Hatchet all from Jacksonville Fl
That was the seventys and eighties we all had hair to or waste
Love you and your reactions !! Jeff Carlisi's guitar work and the extended outro has to rank in the Top Ten all-time guitar solos.
Rock n roll back then was about big hair!
The lead singer is the brother of Lynyrd skynyrd lead singer
So you have a thing for Long haired Rock N Rollers. I play music 😂
Great Reaction!
