I used to own a ba XR6t ute but, sold and moved overseas (meant to be indefinitely...). Back in Aus and now have a Ba ute with the 5.4l engine (not XR8). One of the first things I'll be doing mechanically, is a brake upgrade. I've been looking into the bf/terri upgrade folks are doing (front and rear) as the ute will be a tow vehicle down the road. Cool little vid mate ☺️☺️
Aftermarket calipers are expensive, this is a cheap brake upgrade that anyone can do. Braking performance has deffenetly improved, for street/strip these brakes work great. If i was circuit racing the car or doing hill climb style events i would use/recommend bigger aftermarket calipers and much bigger disks
Sorry for late reply. What model do the 328mm rears come on? At the time when i researched the brakes the rears were 303 unless they were the 330 brembo ones.
@@RedsProjects my BF XR8 has them, as do some Territory and FPV. I actually bought the 505/303mm rotors for mine, then realised I needed the bigger 2108/328mm
Thanks man, im glad you like the videos, it keeps me motivated. Thats the stock ba xr6 steering wheel, i havn't been in a fg for a wile but i think the they have a few more buttons on them and would be hard to addapt electricly, im not too sure. I have to get my wheel recovered, the leather is worn throught under my right hand, its on the todo list Cheers
Because Ford would use a designed tool to adjust the handbrake they dont want the average Joe to work on it so they can get the work
some brake discs have a coating on them that need to be wiped of with brake cleaner before you install them or when braking they will slip.
Yeah some have a thin oil on them, i normally wipe them down with brake clean or something

@@stephenwilson1649 ok cool, you dont need a plenum to make good power, but they do tidy up the engine bay and make piping simpler
@@RedsProjects yea ,, that's me idea ,,an Cooler air flow ..
$170 on ebay
How or where do you get those caliper brackets from
I bought the brackets off ebay, they are the same as the ones that are on bf xr6 turbo and xr8 i think?
Hey mate is there any reason why you didnt upgrade the rears to 328mm pads?

@@lowfatedes yeah ok, thats good to know. Are they still the original calipers with different brackets like the front?
@@RedsProjects I think so. PBR single piston rear, PBR twin piston front.
@@lowfatedes ok good to know, thanks
Hi I’ve noticed you have holes cut inner front guards what’s that for ?
I have my trans cooler in there, air goes through where the rh fog light was, goes through the cooler and into the wheel well.
@@RedsProjects great idea I thought it might have been to get more air to the brakes 🙂
will these brakes fit on a BA na falcon as well?
Yeah should be the same
Hey man any mods to fit the fg steering wheel or is it a direct replacement cheers and awesome videos man
