I had some good take-aways from this one I can apply in real life, even though I personally don't sell things. I love your simple style of approaching problem solving. That's how I roll too! So thanks! Love all your videos!!!
Thank you for sharing!! I LOVE watching your videos and have thought about doing the Facebook live sales myself for all of my creations. I Love the idea of only having a local based audience because like you the shipping just seems overwhelming! I hope 2021 is an Amazing year for you as you work really hard on all of your amazing creations and you are a good teacher as well.
Dern I did it again. The last part was supposed to say our kin people are who they are too and Lord knows I have some crazies in my family but I love them all. Thanks for talking about the live FB sales. Oh, I forgot, I am from Rockingham, North Carolina so I am a southerner too. I wish you would not try so hard to not speak with your accent. Be proud of it. I'm proud of mine and when a Yankee comes around, I can lay it on thick! Keep up the You Tube videos your following is growing and growing. You are GREAT!
I think TH-cam helps says because it drives more people to your Facebook page because people want to be involved with people they see on ‘TV’. Keep up the good work!
WOWW!!! Thank you Julie for sharing such an important info...u are amazing...many will never share knowledge. THANK YOU!!!!! Blessings to you and yours..
Love your work and design ideas!!! Thanks for your info on business issues!!! I have needed this so much to give me that push to try and start live sales on Facebook!!! Love watching your videos!!! 😊
Thank you for this video lots of great info,, you're one of my top 3 hafta watch and you're all from different states so I have been learning lots from each of you and you're the only one doing the FB live sales and I'm really excited with what it has done for your business,, here's wishing you a great business year love your stuff just live too far away
I have been wanting to do a live sale for my vintage jewelry. I keep telling myself to just do it (so nervous to do it) so I’m so thankful you did this video. Happy New Year!
Thanks so much for all this info! I have a booth at a little country mall and want to spread my business to Facebook! Love these tips! I have learned so much from you! Love you!!
Well I had written a long comment and it disappeared...dang. Anyway, I love watching you, I have been for about 6 months. Girl, you Rock! You are a beautiful, intelligent girl with a great sense of humor. I love to hear you talk and laugh. I heard you talk about your accent and your kin people but Julie I love your accent...you should hear mine.. We are who we are and re kin are the most important people to us
Thank you SO MUCH for this advice! I’m thinking of thrift flips and reselling. I love to craft but I don’t have anymore room in my house for more items, but I MUST create!
Thank you so much Julie. Really appreciate this video.I was at an Amish market for 10 years selling my handmade decor. Many items I designed to help with all the competition that is in an Amish market. After Covid we had to close our shop due to me having a heart attack and being high risk. Looking now for another way to sell. Tried Facebook marketplace and have been so discouraged. Most are expecting to buy for yardsale prices. Looking forward to trying something new. Hope you had a wonderful holiday season.
It was so nice seeing a video from you this evening. Your shawl and earrings looked so nice together and watching was just a great start to a new year. You have inspired me exponentially and given me the confidence to try things that I had never previously even considered. Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge and Happy New Year to you and your family. Best!
I apologize if this has already been asked and answered. I think it would take me all day to read through all of the comments and replies. Before you started doing Facebook live videos to seek you items how did you sell? I know you only sell locally but did you do it through Facebook Marketplace or some other way. I am just starting out. If I did a Facebook live I don’t think anyone would watch because of this. I want to walk, not crawl, before I run. I loved this video. I am trying to be well informed and have most of the kinks straightened out before I begin. New things can be very scary. Being well informed and having a good plan always helps tremendously. Thank you for sharing Julie. 💕
I have always sold thru my Facebook business page where I also do my live sales. I created the page years before I started doing live sales so I did have a following. You can advertise on marketplace or do craft shows but I would be driving to drive people to your business page. Post something everyday on your business page. Even if you don't have comments or likes just keep posting. The more active you are, then more Facebook will show your post. Hope this helps
@@JuliesDesignsandSigns That helps a lot. Thank you for sharing everything you share with all of us. What you do is amazing and who you are is also amazing. 😊❤️
I just started my Etsy page and only listed 2 items (when I realized I had to weigh and measure EACH item I got overwhelmed and thought I’ll deal with adding more later). Well yesterday I sold an item so I guess I’m almost sold out! 😂 😆 I would much rather not have to ship. Maybe I’ll give the fb live a go! Thanks for the info!
Julie- thanks for all the great info 😊 I do have a question- I make crafts and wanted to try the FB live option. Do you have any advice on how to show or stage each selection
I might add some greenery to my pieces but I don't stage them. I just show each one on camera. If I didn't fully answer your question please let me know.
i have a TON of repeat customers, i lot of them just send me their payment at the end before i even message them but i go though add everything up and message them their total. i don't send paypal invoices so i don't need emails. they pay with paypal, venmo or cash
I just put it in a grocery bag or box with their name on it but nothing fancy. I don't spend any money on packaging. Even when I do craft shows I just bring grocery bags.
Thank you for sharing your process and procedures with us, Julie. I am not a reseller, but the knowledge is good to have if I ever decide to become a reseller or sell my handcrafted items. HAPPY NEW YEAR❣🎊😎🥳 🎊
Interesting you eat cabbage instead off collards which are for dollars. The black eyed peas are for pennies. I don’t know what the cornbread is for but I are all three. Loved this even though I’m not going to do a businesss.
Thank you for sharing!! I have a question, this happened to me, someone paid me for something through Venmo and never came to pick it up!! It was something for Christmas!! I reached out to her several times leading up to Christmas and she kept saying she’d come get it but never did....so now what should I do?
Well at this point you probably can't resale it this year, so maybe in 1 week message her one last time and if she doesn't come within the week send her a refund and move on.
Julie, How do you handle special orders do you take payment prior to you making the item or 50% of the price to make sure a special order will be paid for?
custom orders (very personalized) are paid 100% ahead of time. i'm more laid back if its generic and something i could resale if they don't pickup BUT my customers are awesome so I don't really have any problems

This is super helpful! Thank you for sharing all of your tips! What do you use to invoice customers? Nevermind - I rewatched and see that you don't invoice that you send a FB message to remind them to play with the total. ; ) You are awesome! Also, I heard you mention that FB and Venmo does invoices which I didn't know. Thanks again!
This has been quite informative! I love that you shared the simple Item # tracking sheet you use and how you use it. I used to have a cute little shop at my home, but closed it a year ago. I've been tossing up the idea of doing FB live videos, but I seem to always get the slacker people (the worst ones are my friends!) that don't pay or pick up their stuff. How do you go about getting the unclaimed stuff back out there, especially if it's seasonal? Do you contact the next person in line that wanted it, if there was one, or what? I guess I'm always afraid of looking stupid by only hearing crickets at my events or getting the stalkers that are only there to steal ideas. Sorry, lots of questions and scenarios.
Well I don't worry about people stealing my idea obviously 🤣. I think you need to set your rules them stick too it. Give them xxx days. If not paid for it goes back up for sale. If it's seasonal, you could just post and put in your next sale. It's crickets sometimes but you just move on to the next item
It's already figured into my prices. Yes, PayPal and square take a percentage but it very small compared to the sales you will miss out on if you don't have these

Thank you. Can’t wait to use these tips. How long do you wait for people to jump on and join the live?
Maybe 2-5 minutes. Just tell people hi and ask them what they doing. Try to pass a few minutes then start

I just put it in a grocery bag or box with their name on it but nothing fancy. I don't spend any money on packaging. Even when I do craft shows I just bring grocery bags.
The baby throwing the cornbread literally made me laugh out loud 🤣

Well at this point you probably can't resale it this year, so maybe in 1 week message her one last time and if she doesn't come within the week send her a refund and move on.

Throwing the cornbread out the biggie 🤣🤣🤣🤣
🤣
What all did you have to do to get your business up and running. As far as like business license and such.
It depends on you area. It's just out my house so I just have a tax number
I was wondering about using the shop on my facebook page to sell my items. Is there a reason you do or do not use that to sell?
I don't use that because I don't ever have enough stock but if you have a lot of inventory I would totally do that
this was so helpful! thank you!
You know, those new outfits are business expenses and are tax deductible😉
Happy 2021
Happy new year 🍻
How do you handle sales tax? Doesn't Pay pal charge a 3 percent fee?
It's already figured into my prices. Yes, PayPal and square take a percentage but it very small compared to the sales you will miss out on if you don't have these
Thanks for sharing Julie 💗 I had my black eyed peas too...so yum!! Looking forward to a splendid new year!! Blessings to you and yours.
Thanks, Julie! Very helpful 👍🏻. What do you pay your helper, if you don’t mind me asking?
Sorry, forgot to say. She picks something out from my sale usually and I always give her good deals when she orders stuff. She's a friend
Question? Are you giving customers your address for pickup? Or do you meet them somewhere?
My address, I know 95% of my customers personally
Cabbage is for wealth and peas for health!
So NO on getting rid of the crazy then 🤣
Love you!!❤
Would you suggest a FB business page or a FB group?
Invoicing takes FOR-EVVV-ERRRR. If they can send payment that’s way better and I can charge a little less on items because I save so much time.
Yep. This was works better for me. Much faster
Have you considered shipping?
I have, but I don't need to, everything sells locally
