    You may not have had your PC & normal style of recording, but you hit some great points and knocked it out of the park!
    You're correct, not everything is DIY, for various reasons. Lack of proper tooling, for one. Knowing limitations of your capabilities is a big deal, whether it's the lack of knowledge, experience, or tools.

    Thanks for video Corey. I despise oil air filters. Cause nothing but issues on MAF cars and causes gummed up throttle bodies on all cars. Most people over oil them and the excess oil blows into the intake tube the first time you accelerate.

      The kicker is when you get a customer that doesn't understand the diag fee when Autozone already guessed at it, only to find out after an hour of diag, it really is the o2 sensor. Then the customer says "see, I told you that's what it was"

    Another good one Cory. Nice find easy fix 👍👍👍 most of the time I watch videos just to learn new trouble shooting techniques. • @SAAutoRepair

      Taking time to practice with new equipment and looking at "known goods" is soooo important. Then, you can try unplugging/disconnecting stuff to see the affect. Pull a vacuum line to watch the affect on fuel trims, MAF and inj pulse. Stuff like that. Thanks sir. Your stickers are on the way

    Good seeing you been a while totally agree always good to have a check and see if you can get the input from others and getting the experience from doing it for a while always helps. I come from pre TH-cam and yes I had friends in the industry but also they were my competitors they just were not as forward to divulge information so I had to learn from the school of hard knocks. Let me tell you it puts hair on you’re chest quite quickly. What I don’t like is when I went to school they thought you how to check voltage how to do this and how to do that but really never sat us down and show us normal read outs and make us memorize or remember generally what you should be seeing in a normal situation. Also when I went to school carburetors were still very dominant maybe that is why teachers had no clue what info to give out. Anyhow just to say sometimes making a bad call can open up you’re eyes and make you look further Into things and lucky you’re friend knows a good guy like you. I have seen many a garage or even dealer that would of changed the 02 sensor and then would of said we changed the sensor like you instructed us but it didn’t fix the problem would you like for us to look at the problem? Then who knows what shpeel they would of told this customer knowing that this customer knows very little about diagnosing. Long story short it’s good to find a guy that you can trust and maybe get some info if you are a back yard warrior or a weekend warrior trying to save money 💴. Always good to see you keep up the good stuff

    • @SAAutoRepair
      @SAAutoRepair  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, the old days were very competitive. No info, bad info and lots of mistakes. There's a whole new way of teaching now with some very talented instructors out there. Don't memorize...analyze, is the motto. known good readings are nice, but understanding what the data is saying is the goal. Yes, there are a lot of parts canons being launched at shops everywhere. Guessing is their #1 diag tool and it's something that needs to change. No back yard warrior here, 33 years in the business, licensed and registered repair business. Appreciate all the input sir. Cheers

    The parts cannon gets pricey! Nice work, Corey - great lesson! 👍👍
    My computer has become super sluggish ever since I started shooting TH-cam vids, so I've been slacking on them, too. Editing and uploading takes forever. Only way to upgrade memory is through major surgery - have to pry the glass off the unit (basically pry the entire unit in half), and take every single component out of the case (of which there are many). Lots of potential for a 4-figure mistake - not sure I want to go there ... yet. I may be driven to tackle this at some point. If I had just spent another $300 for the larger screen iMac back in '15, I could have upgraded the memory in 15 seconds. Always the way! 😣
