Hi finally I'm writing my thoughts down here. Your channel has really inspired me. I spent a whole day going through your videos when I was preparing interviews for a site engineer role in abroad, I'm soooo excited about this role. Even though it is true, I didn't realise how much this industry is worldwide saturated more importantly, how this has an effect on the everyday life of Indian engineers I grew up in India and 7 years ago to complete my B. TECH(CIVIL ENGINEERING) and now I am a normal civil engineer job in india !! This is so embraced and I feel this is a headache still cant move abroad I am trying it. I want to encourage Indian engineering students, especially those from the Indian community and with lack in English being their second language, to follow their dreams to become an engineer in Abroad.
@@WOLeifFr I think u have it vice versa sir ... If not please elaborate a little bit. I thought the only time a GC company only receives a " draw" after work in the field is completed.
The PM decides what things need to be done (monitoring, negotiations, follow-ups, quality control, etc.) The execution is done by the APM, whose job is primarily to make the PM's job easier. Also, the PM takes responsibility for everything. Doesn't matter who screwed up where. If the project is a success, PM takes the credit. If it's a failure, PM takes the blame. No excuses.
What is the industry standard rate of pay? I’m a plant manager and was told the next step is apm. Not sure if I want that, plus I would have to float both roles
I am immigrant . Is it easy to find a job as a site engineer ? I have ielts band 7.0 and 7 years experience in site engineer position for a japanese general contractor
definately if you want to be a project manager in construction aim for architecture major in construction get some project management certification and do an mba just for you to get stronger on the field due to youll be right in the money spot
I have an Architecture technology degree as was just hired as an APM, some education is good but I’m really looking forward to the experience I will gain
@architecturedraft5559 Did you have any experience prior to getting hired? I'm in the process of earning my Bachelor of Science in Construction Management but have been scoping the job market out, and most want between 5-10 years of experience + a degree...
its called construction management and it is available for architects and/or civil engineering, sometimes even for mechanical and industrial engineers even though it is meant to be a construction job.
@@juanbalderas777 Also available for experienced Tradesmen. I want to go to BCIT and they require my red seal and supervision experience before being admitted to the program since I am neither an architect nor an engineer.
I am an assistant project manager for a HVAC contractor . Love it, everyday is different
If this guy is just an assistant, then what a monster the PM is? ))
Precisely
Not really he should know what the priorities are and finding out the morning of is poor planning, should be afternoon before as a minimum
Cool video, love the interview set up! The hard hat placement is great, nice added depth with bokeh.
Great insights for people wanting to get into the Construction industry

Meeting all the time, sometimes pretend to be busy.
Inside makes the money. Outside brings the money in.

Is there a difference between a project manager and an assistant project manager?
Assistants will be a pm but they just are entry so they can’t be completely trusted with a whole project right away there basically shadowing
Responsibility levels are not the same
I'd say mostly the pay....
