They wrote their own musical in 1977: The Girl With Holden Hair. 'Thank You for the Music' and 'I'm a Marionette' being my favourite songs from it. Momma Mia was decades later and written to use their music in a musical.
Abba is my favorite band of all time...I listen them almost everyday...You should come to London and see Abba Voyage...Its amazing...I've been 4 times already ❤.
: Side note, to answer your questions 1) ABBA's songs gave rise to a musical: "Mamma Mia" in 1999, which was on Broadway and London, and then gave rise to two "Mamma Mia" movies (and there is a third one in the works) 2) ABBA's songs make use of the contrast of sometimes sad and melancholic lyrics with cheerful music Their signature song "Dancing Queen" is considered the second happiest/energetic song and the one that gives the most dopamine (only behind "Don't stop me now" by Queen) 3) The relationships they had were romantic couples, since the guys met the ladies in 1969 The blondes Agnetha and Björn got married in 1971 and at the time of this video (January 1978) they had their second child; They split up at the end of 1978 Instead, Benny and Frida only got married in October 1978, and separated at the beginning of 1981 first, the guys met un 1966 and begin His friendship Despite both breakups, they were able to continue as a group until the end of 1982, and return with a new album in 2021 and a revolutionary virtual concert in London from May 2022
They was two couples.... 🅰️ Agnetha, the blond girl with 🅱️ Björn, the guy who appears in front (guitar, songwriter)... 🅱️ Benny, the beared guy in the back (piano, songwriter) with 🅰️ Anni-Frid (aka Frida), the readhead girl. Agnetha and Björn divorced in 1979, after 10 years of marriage. Benny and Frida divorced in 1981, after a long relationship and a marriage of just over 3 years. BEST ⭐ POP ⭐ BAND ⭐ EVER! Take care ✌️ Greetings ❤ from Chile 🇨🇱🤗👍
Yup, you got it, feel good factor. That said they weren't all upbeat pop and disco, they did some rockier tacks and some sad ballads as well. Try "The winner takes it all" for a taste of that.
Yes they have a musicsl called Mamma Mia that has been on Broadway. It has been around the world and has been seen by about 60 miljion people. And there are 2 movies with ABBAs music Mamma Mia and Mamma Mia here we Go Again

So nice to see you again reaction to more ABBA songs
in your new ABBA Journey
"Take a chance on me" (1978)
is one of their best ABBA hits in all the world,
the most selling song of ABBA in U.S. (more than Dancing Queen),
#3 in Billboard U.S.
one of their four Top10 in US :
#6 Waterloo (1974)
#1 Dancing Queen (1977)
#3 Take a chance on me (1978)
#8 The winner takes it all (1981)
This is one of few song than the vocals are more extensive than the music
(They begin 'a capela' and singing at the end)
the blonde singer Agnetha is the lead vocal in the solo verses, her voice is so powerful,
in perfect armonies and chorus with the brunette Anni Frid in co-leads vocal
(and the boys in back voices singing repetitive the frase 'take a chance, chance')
Agnetha & Anni Frid have fantastic voices and harmonies together
Agnetha is soprano
Anni Frid 'Frida' is mezzo soprano
and together made a 'third voice'
the guitarist Björn got the idea while jogging,
by the sound of the footsteps he interpreted t-k-t t-kt
and adapted it to
"take a chance, chance, take a chance",
so the song was born
Although it is a disco europop, it's like a constant and happy march, captivating, cloying, addictive
if I could give You a suggestion for next reaction, take a review of all "ABBA The Álbum"
(release at the same time with "ABBA The Movie" in 1977),
is a Masterpiece of versatility in each song,
but specialy the hymn "Thank you for the music"
or their most complex song
"The name of the game"
I wish you a greatest new week
My best regards from

2) ABBA's songs make use of the contrast of sometimes sad and melancholic lyrics with cheerful music
Their signature song "Dancing Queen" is considered the second happiest/energetic song and the one that gives the most dopamine (only behind "Don't stop me now" by Queen)
3) The relationships they had were romantic couples, since the guys met the ladies in 1969

Watch Mama Mia, it's a very cheesy film but it is so much fun and it's all ABBA music
