Very cinematic song... more of a tragedy than a comedy. The protagonist is another lovable loser who the Dan portrays in many of their songs. And yes Moonlighting was a favorite show in the 80s... even met/partied with Bruce back then

I love Rugby but can't bear American football. The constant stopping and starting is the worst. I don't know how anyone can get into a game that feels like it stops every 10 seconds. I think a lot of Rugby fans would have that issue with it to be honest.

Peter Grant, their manager was not shifty. But more like a thug or gang leader. He basically was ruthless when it came to dealing with Zeppelins affairs. He had no problem rounding up a few of his biggest roadies to deal with people he thought were trying to rip off Zeppelin in someway. It is rumoured that Bonham would occasionally join in. But he also was a genius when it came to Zeppelins interests. He used Zeppelins fame to demand a much much bigger share of the money from the record company. Until Zeppelin, the artists of any genre of music got very little of the money from the record company. But Zeppelin and Grant changed all that. After Zeppelin started getting way more money, other artist joined in and demanded the same. Ironically, he also was behind them forming their own record company, Swan Song, after Zeppelins 4th album. They were on Atlantic before then. I say ironic because now they were the ones in charge of the money over other bands. The biggest artis under their label was a group called Bad Company. Which became a fairly important group. Grant is in the hall of fame for managers. I don't know for sure but one reason there might not be a movie is Page is very stingy with the rights he gives anyone to do anything about Zeppelin. Until only the last 25 years or so, he wouldn't allow anyone to use their music in games(Guitar Hero, Rock Band) tv or movies. And I think none of the books about them is officially done by Zeppelin. So Page may be blocking any movie attempts. About 20 years ago, he even bought up all the bootleg concert footage he could find, cleaned it up and released it as a double dvd. Until then only the movie, The Song Remains the Same was the only official Zeppelin footage out there. They were having turmoil towards the end. Page was always the leader but Plant took on the role more and more as Page's heroin problems started affecting him. Page was not always playing that well live the last few years. Plant started getting tired of Page's behavior. And wanted to quit. Page also seems to have had a thing for really young girls. That was not nearly that big a thing then as it is now. A long time gf of his Lorri Mattix, was like 14 when he started dating her. But Zeppelin was so big, no one cared. Also, she was not exactly a virgin when Page met her. She also claims to have slept with Bowie and Jagger at the same time period. And Bowie and Jagger did more than "almost kiss" each other. If you get my drift. Page dumped Lorri when he started dating Bebe Buell. The actress Liv Tyler's mother and groupie to lots of rock stars. Including Steven Tyler of Aerosmith. Liv's bio daddy. Only Bonham and Plant were actually friends. And John Paul Jones rarely ever hung out with them other than band related stuff. He was not into the fame and excess the rest of them loved so much. He is often snubbed for projects by Page and Plant after the break up.

Jimmy Page had the vision for the type of music Led Zeppelin would produce. Light and Shade. He didn’t want to have singles because he produced all their albums and put the songs in a particular order to create a complete work of art, not just individual songs. If you wanted a song you had to buy the album. Smart marketing if you want $$$.

I could see how older fans would not like it as it deterred from their hard rock sound, but I love it. Probably my favorite album after Physical Graffiti, and I love every Zep album.

Great reaction to this masterpiece we are so lucky to have captured on film. There are lots of live performances of Edward doing a solo but all are low quality videos and audio but here you get to hear it as it was live. This was pieces of music put together from tens of thousands of hours just playing the guitar and coming up with different ways to achieve sounds. One thing particular about these sounds and playing is the tone. The tone instantly grabs you in the beginning with3:16 (from balance I think it was) his tone was an innovative accomplishment in his early days by marrying Strat style bodies and tremlo with Gibson fat sounding humbucker along with other innovative designs to control feedback and angling of the pickup along with a maple neck which has his hands and finger tips permanently indented into the fretboard. This tone can only be achieved by his mind and his fingers only. If you pick up his guitar it will sound like you, when he picks it up it sounds like God! Btw I love your shirt”go Wolfpack”! Rock on!

You should have a look at two more of Al's video's .Firstly, Al Murray - Secretary. It will show you how he opens his shows, quite an eye opener. One thing you need to know as it doesn't translate is that the term PA in the UK means Personal Assistant, as opposed to Physicians Assistant in the USA. The second video I'd recommend is Al Murray - National Anthems. If you don't get a kick out of that, it's time to give up.

Their manager Peter Grant was considered the 5th member of the band, all managers should take care of their clients like he did. All the band had to do was their music, he got them the great record deal, with Atlantic Records. Page wouldn’t have excepted, if he/they didn’t have total control, he knew exactly how he wanted things to go. Venues were getting 90% of concert ticket sales, Grant told them he wanted 90% for the band & 10% for the venue. He said, you can have 10% of sold out venues, or 100% of nothing. He stopped venues from selling bootleg Led Zeppelin merchandise, stealing from the band. After Plant & family car accident, plant wasn’t sure if he’d walk again, & was in a wheelchair for almost a year. When his son passed away, plant wanted to quit & become a teacher, Bonham talked him into coming back. They didn’t perform for 2 years, & Page’s heroine addiction became worse. Sadly Bonham drank so much especially the day he died, because he didn’t want to leave his wife & kids to tour the USA. They loved performing, but hated leaving their families, & the hectic life of touring. There are a lot of amazing interviews with them, I suggest watching as many as you can, they are all very interesting & Robert is usually funny too. Keep enjoying their music, so we can too. Videos of their full concerts are amazing too, there’s only 4 with visual & audio. Thank you for your reaction.

Her cover of "Summertime" on the album is my definition of "Sublime" and near perfection. EDIT - Beth Hart is a currently popular artist who had to have been influenced by Janis. I only recently went out of my way to hear her because of others comparing her style to Janis and I agree she is one of the closest since.
