Welcome to the Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Roulette! In this series @MBTYuGiOh and I spin a wheel featuring every Secret Pack in Master Duel. We then build decks using 20 of only those Secret Packs before playing a Match to determine that episode’s winner. The winner of each episode gets to decide if they want the first or second Secret Pack from the wheel during the next episode, but they must choose before seeing what the second spin lands on! Another commenter and myself on MBT's clip channel hashed out the statistics on this one, the chances I calculated of this happening in any given pack of 8 cards (not accounting for guaranteed SR/URs, for sake of convenience and because it wasn't relevant in this situation anyways) were just over .0027832%, or in other words a (slightly lower than) 1 - in - 35,929 chance.
Not that crazy considering these whales open thousands of packs over time

But what about when you factor in streamer luck?
The luck is even crazier with both cards being good, generic extra deck cards. He very easily could've pulled something niche or specific like Thermal Genex.

Doug was trying so hard to sandbag his deck this week while almost playing constructed marincess.
Good episode.
Trickstars got so shafted with the rarities in that pack. You can make a really good Marincess deck with almost nothing since they just need SR's and Trickstars need basically all of the UR's if you want any protection for your other monsters. You can really tell which deck the devs liked when tossing rarities out.
It's not fair tbh, good thing it's only a problem for trickstar players so no innocent people have to suffer.

What I love about this series is the absolutely random synergies that come up out of nowhere just by pulling some very specific cards.

I WAS SO EXITED WHEN DOUG MADE CRYSTAL HEART FIRST but then he didn't go for coral and summon it back. its literally a good play cus it makes coral unaffected. the only reason no one does it in tcg is cus of toad and coral triangle plays

Where is the new episode?
I love how MBT does his usual thing of "Here's what Doug doesn't know...", and then Dzeeff is like "Here's what MBT doesn't know...", but it's a downside.
As someone who has been practicing Marincess as one of my better decks, hearing Dzeef say "I really don't know what 90% of these cards do", I can feel the pain this episode is going to bring me.
Watching Doug pull all these out-of-the-pack Fabled and The Fabled cards makes me hope that one day, one of them is actually going to draw and play the Fabled pack😌
for people who are wondering - he was supposed to summon crystal heart in extra monster zone (so it wouldnt be nibirud) then from crystal heart and another card make Anemone (unaffected thanks to crystal heart) summon back crystal heart and go for link 3 (unaffected bcs of crystalheart), thanks to that he would be able one more card to hand from GY, bcs anemone was send to gy... feels weird actually knowing deck played:D
Why not link-4? Anemone + crystal heart to link 4, in battle phase summon one of equipped Marincess by effect link 4.
He still coulda done it from his summon of crystal heart. Go into anemone, summon crystal heart, summon link-4

@@asethon4430 That link 4, Wonder Heart, is kinda ass. All it does is summon one of its equips when it battles so it's only really good for pushing for lethal. Marbled Rock is just so much better, especially in sealed: it recycles cards from the gy, better wall since it's second effect is not OPT and even has slightly higher atk for some reason

Doug seemed to think his pulls were rough because he didn't have a full deck worth of Marincess cards, but no one runs a deck of 40 Marincess cards. Glad to see they paid off for him
idk what chat was going on about this episode, all the marincess cards that were relevant were easy to pull, and there's basically nothing that could be done when marbled rock or any of the link 4s had a battle ocean to back it up... and you can get battle ocean and marbled rock if your only super was coral anemone
I think they wanted him to go for the link 4 since he could of done it with coral since it would just summon the link 2 back and link climb to the 4 but marbled rock is underrated

Doug doesn't know that his pulls were cracked af XD Marincess is crazy in sealed and he pulled CRAZY.
I like how each match, doug got to use use of the different archetype, trickstar then my fav Marincess

So happy to see Marincess take a dub, especially played by Doug, even if he fumbled it a bit.
Marincess is one of my favorite decks, and probably the most powerful one I’ve played.
Luckily for him, the failure to summon Coral Anemone (she could have brought back Crystal Heart, still summoned an unaffected Marbled Rock, and gotten her search when linked off) didn’t much matter, and he was already in an auto-win position when he failed to realize that he could essentially play out the second turn the same as the first.
It physically hurt me when he called Pascalus bad, though… oof. The best opening Marincess hands contain both Pascalus and Blue Tang (though the latter is obviously more important), so I run both at 3. I think Doug was thinking of Mandarin as the extender that’s only typically run at 1 (but having her at all is still great!).

how merciful the douglas is, not summoning the link 4 backed up by the battle ocean to truly instill despair in MBT, instead settling for a much more manageable marbled rock

I get that dzeeff doesn't regularly play marincess, but going into the link 3 instead of coral, bring back crystal heart into link 4 hurt my soul
He did go over it but the concept of MBT continually having a 3k body that's immune to effect destruction and can res and also tap a monster at spell speed 4 is rather foreboding. Not unbeatable sure but destruction protection is hit or miss, and there's some packs that won't be able to get over that w/out pulls from out of the pack providing the answer. Some decks don't have non-destructive removal, and the last effect means if there's only one monster that can crash over it, unless it has targeting protection it can be kept from attacking.
Those are the MBT pulls of all time.
Its alright, MBT is playing for the late game with those royal rares.
