    Imagine this. You are a cowboy on his horse riding along, lets say in the late 1880s, and you see the sun shining on this mountain at 09:10. Absolutely stunning to say the least.

    10:08, moonrise, nice catch; 12:29 U.S. Border Patrol station, all eastbound traffic on I-10 must stop & those found with certain "substances" get a visit from the Hudspeth County Sheriff's Department; 15:29, old Sierra Blanca depot building which was a joint SP/T&P agency; 44:58, Moody, TX, several of the old buildings use to hold a large furniture store; 54:16, old spur to the right goes to the U.S. Navy Ordnance Yard; 55:24, industrial lead to the left was once the ATSF/Cotton Belt interchange track; 56:22, the Cotton Belt line from Waco to Gatesville once crossed here; until the early years of the depression the ATSF ran connecting passenger trains via trackage rights on the Cotton Belt from Mc Gregor to Waco.

    My favorite parts are where you point the camera out the side to see the scenery without the tracks.

      The first city after Alpine is San Antonio. There are no cities between El Paso and San Antonio. If you head north then you run into Midland.

    Aaron: a brief comment; the clarity of your footage is outstanding. Sorry you were not able to include the inside of the terminal at El Paso. Very unique and historical. Amtrak has three sleeper compartments, a roomette, bedroom and family room. Your view of the bedroom, shows a full-length mirror that can be slid back to serve as a door into the bedroom next door. For a trip from El Paso to San Antonio, the roomette is your best choice to sleep during the long night, after an evening meal in the dinner, which is included with the fare. Keep that camera rolling, great job.

    I love your videos, Aaron. Thank you! (Now, if we can somehow get the Texarkana, AR/TX Union Station to be renovated...)

      Most of the time I was at the rear of the train.

    Curious, how were you filming to have so much noise?

    • @aaronfriedman7065
      @aaronfriedman7065  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Noise? Where, when?

    • @jeffomspaugh6691
      @jeffomspaugh6691 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Aaron Friedman the side footage of the sunset and the mountain with bright sunlight was obviously a side view. Lots of background noise then.

      Probably wind and the train over rough tracks.

      @aaronfriedman7065  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I was at the back of the train. There's a window back there.
