British hip hop at it's very best, recognition is one of the best British hip hop album's ever along with gangster chronicles and the lion goes from strength to strength. If you know what I'm on about the your lucky to have lived in the greatest decade of hip hop ever. Peace.
Oh My Lord, Im actually one of thr Dancers in this Video. I've had a copy of this from way back when we shot it, but never actually knew it was online. Wow! A bit of Trivia for ya, Just to Add to the infomation above, The roof top dancing was shot in Brixton. By the Brixton Academy.
Wicked. I had goosebumps watchin that. Dancin was everything back then and if I had this footage back then it woulda been worn out from watching it. Big up👊💯
I'm today years old hearing of these cats. Sad that this was never played on L.A. radio or the video shows of the time. I'd have jumped right on it! The beat is hard as nails.
Wow! I was at Bruce Castle Park in Tottenham when they were shooting this Vid. Was Playing abit of street basketball on the open court there with the Tottenham Tarheels. I used to see DJ Devastate at Northumberland Park School maan! He was 2 years above me but would always acknowledge the younger youtz. Respect to the Demon Boyz, along with Rebel MC and Black Radical Mark 2 were local heroes and represented Tottenham well. World Class!!
Man, I love surprises and this has tickled me nicely! Demon Boyz Demon D and Mike Jay were crucial lyricists and lets not forget DJ Devastate who could really tear the shit up out of the records! Reeeeeeeeeeeespect!
Anybody that listened to the Zulu Nation Rap Show I presented on Itch FM know that the Demonz for me are the best thing ever! And if you don't know then please go do some homework about them fast so we can sit down ina yard and reason. Big ups for posting this!!
Yo, these man were tough pon da mic'! Especially for those times. Watching this brings back tooo many good memories and its not like I was there, just the ends & the vibes. Yo!-to the Twilight Firm.
Love it. UK Hip Hop innovators to the max! Wish it'd been released, it would have fitted in the collection perfectly!!! Wonder why it wasn't featured on Original Guidance album? Pure style & skill good vibes Hip Hop. Thanks for uploading it.
@privatejoker1000 Hey, this was the original, the version that was released was made nearly two years later. This version never saw the light of day until now. But I'm seriously glad you like it. Thanks.
its a crying shame & quite scandalous that this never got a general release! Brilliantly simple & cheap but affective video....nothing like the modern sometimes overly produced video's you get these days splattered all over the internet or cRAP....sorry MTV....& great to see a 'dj'....
@insanemacbeth Sounds like your old skool............The Demon Boyz were produced by The Twilight Firm. Which means recording, vocal directions, sound quailty, mixing...reverbs, delays, separation, backing tracks etc. All created in the bedroom of Brian B and Dj Deverstate. The 'Boyz' where produced by more than one-man, a small collective-together called 'Twilight Firm'. If you need to know who exactly done what.....I'll PM you.
No, the Demon Boyz never toured with Das EFX.....but it was a short time after the DBoyz first album that Das EFX started with their own fast tongue style.....so I suppose the timeline speaks for itself.....
stereomixerman I was on the road with them at that time...million Dan aka mike j is my brother ... when epmd came over...they also brought over d'as efx which was a new act at that time ... they heard Mike rap with the Jamaican fast tongue... snappy stylée....they then took the style and popularised it over in ny
@insanemacbeth Cool bro.........I know Deverstate and Dj Fingers, too. We all grew up together........played out together........made beats together.......One family.
saw this video years ago. i think BULL (who used to manage MELL'O', LONDON POSSE and DEMON BOYZ) dropped it on me. much preferred this DEVASTATE version, to the one that was officially released.
Thanks for the extra info.....the dancing adds to the flavour of the time....Didn't one of you two dancers go on to become 'Ingorants' production time....?
When million dan calls me which is very rare nowadays,he’s a teacher now,we talk for a hours …I call him Milly the man with the million words …. I have one of his scrapbooks,Mike is my brother
@insanemacbeth Yeah, still got this on Promo VHS somewhere when you gave it to me all them years back. Always meant to upload it, but wanted to finish with my Rhymeside stuff first. Best version IMO
