I thought it was very odd to have such a small space and so few loungers and allow smoking. By all means have a designated smoking area, but I'm not sure this is a good solution here.
Internationally it is. But in Thailand? 5 stars I believe should have a spar. This place didn't and neither do the two hotels in pattaya that I mentioned with 5 star ratings. Blackwoods and Baraquda. Having said that, all three are fine at their price point as they are less than half the price of the genuine 5 star hotels.
Another great and informative video. Regarding hotel ratings, ratings from 1 to 7 stars are given based on the facilities on offer. To get 5 stars in the UK, this hotel would also need a spar, so yes, this should be a 4 star property.
Welcome back friend !! 😉Indeed that was Santorini ! Nice to see that you pronounced "Asoke" almost correctly after I typed a comment on how to, 2 years ago ! haha ! (Ah- sow - k, not Ah - saw - k))
BFB! Good to see you again. You're looking great. Hope you've been healthy and happy. The Continent looks like a great hotel with a decent breakfast. I stayed just down the road at Radisson Blu. That was good as well, with a nice ,but expensive roof top bar. Good beers, though. Yep, prices have gone up in BKK, but still great value compared to other places. Travel safe, and looking forward to the next videos
Great review Tom, looks a decent hotel. Bangkok star ratings are a mystery as you say! Thanks for sharing, hope you're back in the Land of Smiles soon! Cheers mate, all the best!
Off to Dublin then To kl and Penang up to Bangkok via Hatyai and sleeper then down to Raffles for Singapore Sling back to kl then back to the UK on 50 March .phew about of trip
Definitely a 4* hotel the room is nothing to right home about, that swimming pool looks crap only 3 sun loungers right next to a smoking area I definitely don't want to be breathing in that smoke, I packed in 1984 so why would I want to breath in that poisonous gas and pay a lot of money for someone's own pleasure.
I stayed there 8 years ago. They had a food and booze inclusive option which was reasonable. Nice view from the top bar in the evening.
Good hotel, stayed here back in 2014 for 2 nights excellent location, miss being in Thailand. . .enjoy your trip Besty
Short and to the point video. Thanks for sharing.
Give the new Parkroyal suites a shot next time your'e in Bangkok, huge rooms, excellent location right near Nana and not too expensive.
Thanks for review. Great putting that pool/smoking set up at start. Immediately ruled the hotel out for me, so didn’t have to continue.

just looking about booking this place just the other day for later this year
was this a premier, executive or sky lounge room type ta
This was the standard room, high floor. I believe it's a premier.
@@BigFatBesty thanks alot
Glad to see you back in Thailand. Looking forward to seeing the videos.
Good Hotel You are right about the rating system.
Glad you are back uploading. you have inspired me to vlog my up coming trip
The star system is a measure of what services and facilities a hotel is able to provide.
