International Digital Culture Spotlight Heritage Timisoara with XR demonstrations | Norway 2023

Because year 2🟡23 is about #culture, #history and #heritage, we travel across borders with a priceless cargo - the stories of the people and the city of #Timișoara! 📖
The Spotlight Heritage Timisoara team had the pleasure of bringing the International Digital Culture and Heritage Festival to Norway! 🇳🇴
We had the opportunity to showcase the stories of the past through a unique immersive experience, taking everyone's story across borders and turned the residents and visitors of Norway into virtual tourists. They had the opportunity to visit historical monuments and key points of the city with the help of virtual reality and even interact and "touch" historical and heritage objects in the National Museum of Banat in a mixed reality environment.
It was a unique experience and we enjoyed the interaction and reactions of everyone who wanted to experience our project. The digital applications used during the Festival were passionately developed by students and professors of the Polytechnic University of Timișoara, and the heritage buildings and tourist attractions were 3D scanned with the help of our partners from Cyberscanning.

Spotlight Heritage Timișoara / Patrimoniul sub reflectoare is a digital cultural initiative of the Politehnica University of Timișoara realized in partnership with the National Museum of Banat, part of the Cultural Programme Timișoara 2023 European Capital of Culture. Cultural project co-financed by the Center for Projects of the Municipality of Timișoara, Timiș County Council, Ministry of Culture, Romania, EEA and Norway Grants.
In Norway the project is presented with the support of the University of Agder, Romanian Embassy in Oslo.
