Matchbox and Hotwheels 5-packs are quite easy to open, tear off the top part and the flap opens and gives access to the inside, hope this helps. Gonna have to get some of these myself, I like the police and rescue sets the best. I don't care about scale problems myself, these are toys and are made to fit small blister cards. It keeps the price down,
most people don't realize these toys cost nearly 80 cents retail in the 1970's and are now a little over a dollar, not a huge price increase like other toys. Have a great day!😃👍
I’m terrible at opening the 5-packs on camera for some reason haha - the tip is appreciated thank you. It is pretty incredible that the price has remained close to the same amount for nearly 60 years, which is really wild to think about!
All of the cars in City Adventure II have been released as a 5-pack before.
Yeah it looks like either 2018 or 2019 it was released…which is a bummer that it’s an exact repeat, it if people missed it the first time they have a chance again.
23:49 The MBX Rescue III 5-pack has all of the throwback emergency vehicles! Especially the Ford Police Interceptor Sedan released back in 2014 in a Mission Force 5-pack along with a 2012 Ford Explorer as a K9 Unit, the generic MBX SWAT truck, and some helicopters. Although, I did find the 2016 FPIU at a Walmart in Florida last week and it's an amazing throwback! Hope to find the new MBX Rescue III 5-pack along with the other 5-packs very soon!
Matchbox does make excellent service vehicles - hopefully the new packs hit your area soon so you can find them! I was in Florida three times this year and had a little luck at the Daytona Beach Target and the Destin Wal-Mart as I found several new cars at both stores!
@@64Wheels Thanks! The local Walmart and Target stores near where I live don't really have a lot of new Matchbox cars. But I do hope to find them eventually! It just takes some time for new Matchbox cars to get restocked.

The 2020 City Adventure II 5 pack had the same exact cars.
Right?! I knew I wasn’t crazy that I had seen or even bought the same 5-pack before ha.
Also, I have all 10 versions the 2016 Ford Interceptor Utility, and all the headlights are like that.@@64Wheels

I really dislike electric cars, but Matchbox makes me want to have a fleet of cars people definitely drive on the streets and not just the rare oddballs. I despise Teslas, but I'm starting to feel like my collection needs some. Maybe the new Roadster, even tho Elon Musk is never really releasing that thing 😂
Edit: I'm sure the new Karma has an interior. A friend ordered a blue one for me, I'll be sure to check if it has an interior once mine arrives

That is a nice thing about a second release - gives others a chance to snag them! I’m glad they’ve released several Hot Wheels and Matchbox releases twice as I missed them the first time.

The 70th MBX Anniversary F-150 Lightning had the Lightning tampo. Also the orange GLE is a repeat from another 5-pack 🤦🏻♂
I’m not sure why they didn’t put the Lightning logo on - and the whole Adventure II 5-pack is a repeat from 2018 or 2019 too apparently 😔
@64Wheels The City Adventure II is the wrong 5 Pack for 2023 its the older 5 Pack from 2021 I Believe because i Got one from 2021.
Yeah I mentioned that in the video that it’s a 2023 but is the same as the older 2021 release. It’s odd how they have been repacking the same exact cars in the same paint jobs into 5-packs a few years later. They’ve done it with probably 3-4 different 5-packs recently
The Electric driver packs only seems to pop up in the US unfortunately.
That’s odd to me bc other countries seem to be heavier adopters of EV technology too.

@64Wheels Y Did u opened them wrong, use Exacto Knife to open the top easily so the Box can Be Saved, its how i saved my 5 Pack Boxes, HOPEFully Next 5 Pack Unboxing USE Exacto Knife to cut open the Top and can Easily Slide out The Cars.
I usually rip open the 5-packs because I don’t save the packages - as soon as I open them I put the cars in one of the jammer cases from Hobby Lobby to keep them in as-new shape, but cutting the package is a good tip!

In England a five pack is about 12 dollars. They are plastic based and the majority of them do not represent real road going vehicles. The worse thing that ever happened to matchbox was being brought out by mattel. It's just cheap rubbish rightly aimed at children, and not in my opinion at dedicated collectors. It's horses for courses i suppose so if your happy collecting rubbish then good luck to you.
$12 for a 5-pack is crazy 😳 No way are the cars worth $2+ each new. While a lot of them are nicely done and licensed models, at that cost, I would skip them as well!

Here in Finland the problem with matchbox is how hard they can be to find sometimes i went to probably the largest store in the country and there was barely any matchbox but I did get an express delivery (not FedEx) and a Nasa dodge charger
There not plastic at all. Just the same as hot wheels tbh. And they don’t make proper cars ??? What you talkin about that’s all they make they don’t make shit hot rods with engines hanging out the bonnet. Oh yeah and they don’t sell for 12 dollars at all coz we use pounds not dollars

10:45 every modern matchbox in orange box is low quality cheap junk. Only matchboxes from 1970-1980's are premium, metal quality cars MADE IN ENGLAND not China, Bangladesh or - like here - Thailand for Mattel.
I would consider them junk because there are some very nice castings with great detailing, but it’s hard to beat the older metal-over-metal cars. Every Hot Wheels black wall era of metal-over-metal cars are hard to beat compared to today’s product…but I will say Mattel has done a decent job of keeping the price low while creating new designs.

@pieciek Matchbox and Hot Wheels basic cars have always been toys, neither company has claimed they are making or have made $1 collectibles. They do however make collectible versions of each brand through the Mattel Creations site though - some of them are better than others but all around better than the mainline cars, but the price is not the same. I think if you look at the $1 mainline cars from either brand as collectibles, you’ll probably be disappointed.

I love and collect vintage stuff too, but I wouldn’t call these crap lol. Matchbox makes great utilitarian style vehicles and a lot of these go well with existing Matchbox sets. I do wish they wouldn’t repeat exact releases like the City Adventure or the Wildfire Rescue 😖
