I was thinking the same thing I only had a few days to prepare. I was hoping the trade meet would be a success and then I could hunt for some premiums to keep in package next time but you’re right I completely agree with you. That was my plan.
I too have that red "Jay Leno's garage" Mercedes Benz, and those fake paint scratches are really quite weird indeed. When I received it, I nearly sent it back to amazon actually, thinking it had some serious quality control issues, lol..
Yes! It kind of makes that casting feel special as the red Jay Leno’s garage because the others don’t have the wear and tear in the paint. I thought the same thing when I opened mine.

I found that one in the back bottom row of a almost empty shipper. I guess no one wanted to kneel on the floor and dig to the back.
