Stay humble.
Take a shot every time I touch my face lol. Man it was so hard to ignore my headache and fever during this interview😂 but I‘m glad we did this and I didn’t know you would include so many references haha. Makes it more engaging to watch. Can‘t wait for the time we sit down again and have new things to talk about✌🏻thanks for this video bro❤️
Another great interview man. So much respect for Samuel and what he’s doing for the TH-cam / street photography community 🙏🏻
Thanks for a great interview! It was lovely to see this discussion with two of my favorite photographers! The friendship is palpable- even through the fever!
Nice interview 👌 Thanks 🙌
*gasp* I got a shout out haha nice chilled session! I think Tokyo to sapporo for our road trip 👌
very nice interview and seeing you guys together again
Beautiful content 👌🏼

You take everywhere your Nikon d850? With the Voigtländer 40mm? That is interesting...
Not everywhere but it is my standard setup nowdays for almost anything I shoot these days :) I use my GR IIIx when the Nikon is to big to bring somewhere.
@@SamuelStreetlife Hi Samuel! It is about manual focusing, i am starting to enjoy it. The Voigtländer 40 mm is very tempting. I am thinking about buying one and pair it with my "Nikon df" as everyday carry combo. It would be interesting one video of yours about your experience with the Voigtländer!
@@JavierGutierrez-yl2fs I am uploading some videos soon where I talk about me Nikon set up more :) but it you own a DF than I think the 40mm Ultron is a must buy! The lens is amazing on any body but on the DF it will be like the perfekt fit😍
love it
❤
Very interesting interview, thank you👍! Please tell us how street photographers photographed without autofocus in the past🙏. For example, military photographers😱
They use manual focus and distance scale:)
I'm actually really curious about a lil throwaway comment Sam said about not wanting to shoot film anymore. i'm really curious about that reasoning behind that considering he started experimenting with film for a few years now. was it strictly a budget issue? or a more creative based reason?
Hey! I wanted to experience it myself and then quickly realized that I am happy with my digital workflow and the results. And I felt shooting film was too time consuming and maybe something I would keep doing if I didn’t run a TH-cam channel.
damn.. I just bought a Leica q2 and he said he would kill it.... lol
Sam, please tell us🙏 why street photography is so developed in Japan and printed books by street photographers are popular? Is it because of the curiosity of the Japanese and because of the unusual graphics and detail of Japanese architecture? What is the foundation of the essence of Japanese photography?😊
Japan always had great appreciation of art and technology. Many of the major brands come from Japan so their is also some national pride involved. I think it‘s mostly cultural appreciation and the fact that Japanese people love to be involved in anything creative or handmade. Plus cameras are advertised much more often and in more places than we are used to in the west. Never seen any Pentax TV commercial in Germany ever but in Japan you will see that :)
@@SamuelStreetlife Thanks for the answer! It is also surprising that Japan joined the technological race only in the second half of the 20th century. A Japanese miracle💥. I think something similar is happening now in China.💫
@@SamuelStreetlife It would be interesting to watch a film about Japan and the Japanese in the context of the technological revolution, love of photography, street photography and printing books about various creative hobbies. Do they still print paper magazines in Japan?
@@SamuelStreetlife Have you heard about the social network "VERO - True Social"? Amateur and professional photographers are very actively filling it with their photos instead of Instagram.
….it must be nice
Kill: any Lomography camera product
Date: a large format camera
Marry: my Leica MP with my 35mm Summilux
Wirkt alles sehr lustlos.
@@SamuelStreetlife Wait.
