  • Runners! It's time your core strength extends beyond crunches and planks. As helpful as those exercises are alone, they don't cover all the bases. Remember, runners need to be strong in neutral, flexion and extension. And we need to train all of these positions with load, rotation, and instability. In today's video, Nate shows you how to mix and match different core exercises so you can get a more balanced approach to your core strength.
    Remember: when it comes to training your core, quality matters.
    No matter what exercise you're doing, ask yourself these 3 questions:
    1 - Can you breathe?
    2 - Do you know when you're losing position and
    3 - Can you modify or adjust, and get back to a safe and strong position?

    I’m probably late to the joke train on that one.
    Seriously, I do feel my core not giving enough when running. This is a good reminder I may be pushing untrained elements of myself further and that could cause exhaustion.
