Pretty sad really that with the evolution of F1 and the requirements to put in more electric engine components, that despite the advancements in aerodynamics and ground-force, the added weight is reducing F1 to tyre management (even in qualifying) vs just going full raw dog and as hard and fast as you can. People talk about driver adaptability and that they all need to adjust to drive the cars in the windows... but, personally I'd like to see it back to being about man and machine being on the absolute limit to win vs who can manage the car and run around at 85% best. I personally believe DR would still kick ar@# in the light weight sports car racing.
I love the content but not the presentation: instead of a 10-second pause + wall post, he should explain it with a voice or put a timer on screen or just be faster (no way people in 2024 can't pause a video, either on TV or by phone)

The only way max could stop dan. Daniel's braking was sublime, which can be easily observed in the video. How is he able to brake so late, threaten both the inside ans outside line, maintain the racing line so cleanly, no pushing or punting other drivers and get away so cleanly. I feel that Rb and Horner did him dirty twice, 1st by favouring Max, 2nd by prematurely taking away his seat, instead of putting him in Perez's seat next year

exactly, he's one of the more fairest and cleanest overtakers, except a very few that ended in contact or was too ambitious. the 95% of them were always great

@@RicoA_00 there's only like one and that was brazil on bottas. and even then it wasn't so overambitious, he just misjudged and went wide. it still didn't make any contact. and when it comes to daniels overtakes, his successful ones are remembered more than the rest. I.e triple pass in baku, passing bottas and hamilton in china, overtaking vettel and raikkonen in monza. no one remembers even the brazil one. I only do because I'm a fan of his. and I can't recall any other bad attempts at overtakes of his.
i'm not a racing expert but when i see clips like these it appears like the person in the car which is behind has control over what happens (if the guy in front doesn't want to die) I say this because it sort of reminds me of how in a dogfight there's a certain point behind an enemy you'd want to be in such that they can't force an overshoot and you can indirecly choose where they go and get a kill. here it feels like perez is in that chase plane but actually he wants to overshoot to block the corner so he gets close and pretends to sneak on in the inside when he actually wouldn't be able to so that the guy infront has to lose speed and time in some way inorder to not die. then at the next corner after bleeding the energy of the enemy he has the prime chance where he is the faster car and can zip by and "overshoot" blocking the corner whilst also taking a good line giving his opponent no chance to catch up. basically what i'm asking is. similarly to the other expensive machines vs one another with a dude inside (one in the air and one on the ground) is defending actually more impressive being the one on the attack
Watching Daniel hand Vettel is ass, especially in the 'same' car was always wonderful. I've never understood anyone that says Ricciardo isn't as good as Vettel, he's much smarter and more talented. A shame on F1 he's no longer driving.

On each of those inside dives the other car pulls away from him exiting the turn. No advantage gained. He then overtakes on the next straight due to drafting and power, later breaking. The title is misleading.

I used to love watching his technical driving skill. He lost his competitive edge and confidence and never got it back. He had so much potential.
