747 Jumbo Jet The most beautiful, reliable, safest, smooth & cute looking aircraft, happy to see 747 back. No aircraft industry in the world will ever build a flying machine like except Boeing
The B747 is still the most beautiful jumbo jet ever built but why is economy class still so boring? Back in the 70s when the queen of the skies ferried people across the world she did so not by only offering first class or business class spacious lounges to enjoy but to the economy class flying public as well. I think we should go back to those times instead of showing me how much first class has changed in the aircraft. She had a beautiful past, she can gain an amazing future. Wow! Sam, you're a very fortunate man and your love of airplanes comes through in this video. You've really helped me appreciate more about the planes I get a chance to experience.
They've been mostly replaced by 777s (more fuel efficient) and A380s (more seating capacity), only a few passenger routes nowadays use a 747, and those airframes are mostly on their last legs too, at least for paying humans. Many go on to haul air freight before final retirement; a 747 is actually a cargo plane by design.
He actually deserves a pay cut! The front part of the upper deck is actually horrifically noisy due to the shockwave building up over the cockpit. Everyone at Boeing knows this and I find it disturbing how that Boeing representative kept his artificial smile when Sam made his (misled) comment about the quietness in that zone.
Nice, but you'll never see one that looks that cool in economy. It's like a concept car. Looks great then the companies come out with some watered down piece of crap.
Travis Williamson but theres a reason for that. If lets say United offered such pretty interiors, the prices would go up. Most passengers only care about the price, and therefore will settle with southwest or frontier, unless United also offered the same competitive prices.
This is what Boeing can do and reccomend, the reason why windows don't line up on planes with seats is because airlines specify how its built and they cram more seats in
As for me, I don't care where my seat is but the fact that I am flying within an iconic jetliner of Boeing 747's I am solved. I experienced it last 2011 on my flight back to Manila from Hong Kong. ;)
