welcome to korea. black taxi: expensive than normal taxi, but good service. 7:22 that's for room temperature and hot water. 9:56 it's called 녹두묵(nok doo mook). you have to mix with sauce otherwise it doesn't taste anything. it's made of mung beans.
The "jelly" cubes are actually very good and healthy for you. They are ground acorn or mung beans. They are all natural and were once part of royalty cuisine.
big hotel is pay about 1500USD during 14days and depend star hotel is different 5 star is anout 1500 USD In Korea not use dishwasher is here rice can't clean well on dishwasher
A few things to remember in Korea. -Take your shoes off when visiting someone place(if walking into someone's room or a room where there's bed and etc if that makes sense). I'm sure you figured that out by now tho. Lol -when someone runs into you or hits you in the should as they walk by, they're not gonna apologize(neither should you/you don't have to apologize unless they do). Get used to it. That's just how they are. -when koreans say it's not spicy, it'll be spicy unless you can handle actual spicy food. -when you're at a restaurant, you can call the servers over whenever you meed something unlike in western countries, you raise your hand up until they see you. -do not tip them. Some take it offensively. -you can leave your stuff anywhere when you're out. They won't take it. -if you're dealing with any Korean anywhere, try to speak simple words in Korean. They love it and will serve you better. Sometimes you get free shit.
Warm welcome to Korea! I praise that you made a big decision to leave the family and start your adulthood on your own in Korea. I wish you the best for everything you do here. I guess my heart goes to you especially because you seem to be an ARMY. I'm an ARMY. For anything that concerns you, please post it on TH-cam. Many Korean viewers including me will give you any support or tips that would help you out. 💜💜💜
Hello, I am Korean 😊 Welcome to Korea. 😊😊😀 온돌(Ondol) is a function that warms the floor of the room in winter. Ondol was invented by ancient Koreans. Relics from 7,000 years ago (5000 BC) were discovered. Of course, I doubt that there was such high technology 7,000 years ago. HAHA. Perhaps the primitive people made a fire in a pit and warmed the stones. It is the application of ancestors' technology to modern machinery. Ondol(온돌 溫堗 ) does not mean a warm stone. "On = 온 = 溫" means warm. 堗(돌 Dol) is " Korean stone " called 구들장(Gudeuljang). However, 돌(Dol=stone) is pure Korean word and 堗(돌 = Dol = 구들장) is Chinese characters. It's not Korean Character. By chance, the pronunciation is the same. By chance, the meaning and pronunciation of the English words BARK and 朴(박; BAK) are the same. 朴(박;BAK) means "Bark (botany)"
Hi savannah, I love your vlogs but one thing I am very curious about is like do you always come to home to head to next country and for how much time do you come to home?
i don't go home as often as a lot of my classmates and it really varies how long im there. this year i was only home for one month! i spent about 8 months in sf, 3 months in georgia, 1 month at home and now im in korea :))
@@savannahcjackson Just adding to your question, does Minerva allow students to go home for sometime if their parents need them, or like if you feel homesick, I know this a sort of lame question but still and just very last question did you wrote that common app essay, what do you think if I should write one or not, actually I am applying to binding early program so yeah, please answer my these questions bc your response is really meaningful for me at this time.
@@savannahcjackson thank you so much for your precious time , I want to know that if you used Common app in any way for applying to Minerva, and I read this on Quora that after travelling to each country you have a 4 month study visa only and then you return to your home country and find internships, bc I live in India and there is not a lot of opportunities, did you have a 4 months visa or 6 months like for whole semester, so please help me I am very afraid and indecisive rn
Hi! I love your videos about Minerva... i really want to study there but I was wondering at what age you can apply?! Like I'm 17 now and I live in Italy so I still have 2 years of highschool before I graduate (in 2023) and I can't understand when the selection for my year are!!
Can I still travel to the country even if I cannot get the vac for personal reasons? There has to be a soul that hasn't taken it. Hoping to make the move 2022 or '23 god-willing. Any feedback will help at this point. Can't find much on the matter online.
i mean currently in korea foreign vaccines don't count, so they never even looked at my vaccination card, but I did have to quarantine for two weeks. and you also need a phone number that you'll write down or use to call everytime you walk into an establishment---hope that helps a little:)
i don't have one:) i actually got my vaccine in the us and korea doesn't consider my vaccine legitimate yet, so make sure you have a pcr test done within 72hrs of departure!
Maybe In Korea health care centre people can speak English but so many work struggle think English only speak Korean also so hard more than 1 years not enough sleep. and here doctor also can speak English only think Korea language to disease so hard. bc Doctor document is all in English
Hi, Looks soo good and you are really beautiful:) I'm currently living in South Korea preparing Minerva application. I finished Expression challenge and I couldn't finish my conclusion perfectly due to time limit. I feel really sad and worrying... Would it be ok? Gahhh.... It would be grateful if you leave short encouragement for me
don't worry, if i remember correctly i didn't conclude either 😂 to be honest, many minerva professors have expressed to their students that conclusions are a waste of words when you are writing with a word limit or time constraint. you'll do great, believe in yourself!! 💌💌

yes of course!! you can petition to leave if you have a justifiable reason - it's really not hard at all
about the other question, im not sure i understand what you mean, but i did not write a common app essay. i only applied to minerva!

you can apply as early as the year you are about to graduate (so grade 11)! you need a high school diploma before attending
