I'll be moving to Korea in November to teach English. I'm excited and also nervous. It's great to see someone doing a channel on their recent arrival since I'll be going there soon and most other channels are people who have already been there a long time. Best of luck :)
I'm so thankful to you, all of you really, for documenting your experiences with the EPIK application process. My future goals include being a guest and ESL teacher in South Korea. Keep being great, I'm rooting for you. 🥳
Im only 14, but i really want to move to korea to be an english teacher! Ive learnt so many languages in the past few years and really want to help others :) Im studying really hard in my english class at school and i went from D's to A's in 2 years!! hopefully one day i can make it :D
Loved watching this as I mentally prepare myself to apply in Feb 2022! Wondering when you had to fly out to S. Korea? The beginning of your video was labelled Aug 20, 2021 and you said it was your last day at home, however the the next subtitle says Aug 6, 2021 when you got to Korea? Also wondering if they give you a specific date for when you have to fly out. Can't wait to watch more content throughout your year there!
omg that was a def editing mistake oops!! it was aug 4 :) my flight was aug 5 (landing aug 7) they give you a specific date to land, yes, but they don’t give it to u until ~2 months in advance
that's so awesome for you ! hopefully you'll love and enjoy your time in Korea !! also how was that dance workout, would you recommend ? ahaha trying to find good videos to follow..
I am still in college but I am working towards becoming an English teacher in South Korea. I am nervous about when I get to do EPIK but seeing this video makes me less nervous and more excited
Hey, I just started following you and I love your videos. I am applying for Epik 2022 Feb intake. I have braces and screw implants. I noticed on the video you have something similar going on. What will you do about your ortho treatment? I'd like to prepare ahead
loving your videos so far, they really helps motivate me. who did you get your tefl certificate with? I'm overwhelmed with all the options and figuring out which are legitimate.
Great welcome to South Korea!! My country is not heaven. There may be so many things you can't accept for cultures difference. But I am confident there are a lot of chance to approach for your dream. Hope your good luck!
Thank you for the informative video! I wanted to ask if there was reliable wifi during quarantine (I'm assuming there is... but wanted to confirm) and if you purchased a sim card before arriving in Korea!
we were placed in two hotels - 1 had wifi and 1 didnt work so unfortunately its not guaranteed :// i got a sim card from trazy before arriving yes! i got the premium lite plan (which i still use now!)
Thank you for such an informative video, I hope to teach in Korea soon. Was wondering, whose contact details do you put down when you arrive in Korea and go through immigration? Also, does the school tell you where your accommodation is before you arrive in Korea? I believe they contact the person you put down in your contact details to confirm your arrival, and they also ask for an address to authenticate your stay.
- you can put yourself or the quarantine facility, but since i was with my friend, they just put my friend as my contact! - for your quarantine, you do find out beforehand where you will be staying, epik will let you know the address of the government facility. as for your actual housing, you don't find out until after you get there (unless the teacher you're replacing reaches out... this is rare though)
do they tell you or are you able to let them know what you’re allergic to for the meals? i’m allergic to shellfish so i’m just afraid I might get some type of shellfish in my food like kimchi or something not so obvious
u can only choose either choose meat or veggie option but u cant ask to not have things in it and such :// unfortunately quarantine facilities arent that accommodating to allergies/restrictions
@@NhaDang thanks for replying! I actually withdrew before too and was considering applying again but didn’t know if it’ll be weird if I used the same things lol
Hi, am a non native girl and pursuing B.ed majoring English, and I reallyyy wanna move to Korea as an English teacher, is it possible? Because I have seen many sites which says, "Native English speakers" and am a Non native and Asian.. Help me..🥺❤
Can I still travel to the country even if I cannot get the vac for personal reasons? There has to be a soul that hasn't taken it. Hoping to make the move 2022 or '23 god-willing. Any feedback will help at this point. Can't find much on the matter online.
you can but honestly its hard to do anything without a vaccination bc all places require you to scan in & most restaurants/cafes require to be vaccinated (proof shown through an app called coov)

Hi I'm in my 2nd year in college and I'm taking Bachelor in Elementary Education. I want to ask if I have a chance if I try to apply in South Korea as English Teacher soon? Thankyou
So there is absolutely no way to teach English in Korea if someone is not from the 7 English speaking countries? Not even if someone will have a maters degree in English and teaching?
Ah, the covid test...it's kinda like they push that stick up behind your eyeball for a nice little scratch? Then you deal with the gush of fluids from your eyes and nose while your face kinda burns? I would think it's what a lobotomy would feel like. You are so funny; the highlight of your day is what's for dinner; which would oh so be my highlight too.
I'll be moving to Korea soon, accepted a job offer through GOE - seems like a lot of waiting around? did you get your contract and apartment & quarantine info pretty soon after you accepted the job?
most people dont get their apartment info until theyre there!! & contract + quarantine info came ~2 weeks before we left lmao not sure if that's the same for goe but !! yup !!
Salaam, since you’re a hijabi in South Korea. I wanted to know how’s it going? What’s your experience like , when it comes to food, comfortability wearing modest clothing in the workplace?
@@saadiqahweeder8799 Hi, honestly speaking it's been great so far. There are the odd few stares but it's more so because you're a foreigner. I have never felt comfortable in my hijab and I'm lucky to have nice colleagues but I know it's not the same for everyone. The biggest issue is the food, unfortunately they just don't vater enough for vegetarians, vegans or halal food eaters. That's been my biggest struggle.
