You compare it to a Tailgater with Half the Wattage. Do you think that is a fare Comparison ??? Oh you stated the two outlets were 12VDC I know this was not intentional. PS. What part of LA are you from ? How long have you lived in Montana ?
I have a Tailgator and a 1000 watt inverter generator, the Tailgator will handle startup surge better than the inverter gen will. Inverter generators are set up to cut out if overloaded, the Tailgator will just chug through it. BIG difference in noise, though.
Do you know the gas consumption of this 1400 Predator vs the 2000 Predator? I have a Yamaha 1000 inverter and it will run 11+ hours if you are just running lights/fan/radio, with under a gallon capacity. Love that thing, but it is getting kind of old. I also have a new Champion 2000 inverter, which I think basically the same as the HF Predator 2000, probably made in the same factory in China. I got it at Cabelas for around $430. The Champion 2000 will run 9+ hours on a tank of gas, which is slightly over a gallon. It's significantly more efficient than the Honda EU2200 I had before. When not needing much power, I prefer the small Yamaha because I use when working on an old house without electric, even running all day and into the night, it's never run out of gas. I'd love to get one like you have, but my big thing is wanting a long run time so I don't have to stress about gassing the thing up, or having the power go off if I forget. Fill once and be done with it is my mantra. But the literature for the Predator 1400 says max run time is 7-8 hours, unless you've had better results
@@RushVoorhisOutdoors if you look at the front with all of the plugs.. there is a ground listed (you didnt mention that) and if you read the directions is says that it must be grounded with #6 grounding wire and a copper pipe..... I was confused because no one on youtube that reviewed it even discussed this ground knob or if you need to do it or not.
Yea, I've never used it , or needed to use it . So it specify what exactly you'd need it for? I've never needed to use that, nor have I ever seen a single person use that.
@@RushVoorhisOutdoors thanks so much for answering, I’m just gonna be using it to charge up my Jacaree power stations and such while I am traveling in my van. I don’t know whether or what situation would require a grounding that’s why I was asking thanks so much again for replying. Any additional information you can give me would be absolutely wonderful.
Just bought the 1400 for the wife so she can watch late night TV while camping. We have the 3500 for the RV. So far so good with the 1400. As with ALL Predators, I recommend upgrading the spark plug BEFORE you find out you should have…..
2000's are heavier and consume more gas, so it depends on your usage and power needs. If you don't need more than 8-900 watts, you will be wasting gas with a 2000w, costing much more than $100 very quickly.
Yea, if you have the extra 200$ to spend on the 2000 then roll with that. Pretty much same set up just a tad more power. I have yet to trigger the overload sensor
Hola the same amount of gas as the 2000 watt model and gets less runtime. Not a good unit. I have 3 of the 2000 watt models and I get 12 hrs on eco just charging a phone and running a fan. This one lists to run up to 7 hours. Mine lists to run up to 12 hours. I'll stick with the 2000 watt model thank you very much!
very odd......i've charged the boat, used both USB's charging go pro & camera batteries, and pluged into the other 12v plug with a phone charger and have yet to come close to an overload sign.
must be his mic , just picked this up its quieter than that. I also have the 3500. both great for what I need. I run tools only and nice to have in a emergency.
Yes, they were running the safety check and this Predator 1400 was their backup power. Unfortunately, as they were doing the plant shutdown the Predator ran out of gas. They should have gone with the Honda!
3 seconds in you got a thumbs up dude , love the can.....cheers!
Haha thank you! Appreciate it
Would this be able to charge a jackery 3000 pro?
If you listen to the video sounds like it's actually pretty loud is that not the case?
Just a really nice mic 🎤 lol
It's not to bad at all, been using it for walleye tournaments and it's pretty quiet compared to the others!
Yo, how do you change the air filter on that geni.

Well I've bought 3 tailgaters lol. Lived in sakakawea all my life

That’s a solid Geni right there. Good review
Been working good so far!
Will it run a 1900 psi pressure washer
How many amps? Some popular 1900 psi pressure washers are 13amps. At 120v that would be 1,560 watts.
This little guy provides 1,100 running watts
How long is the first run supposed to be?
A good 15 minutes or so
Is it big enough to power a power saw?
Depends what saw.
9 amps max
I would say no. 1100 watts not much of a load. I would go with at least 2000 watts
Cool review Rush!
Thank you👍

I have no idea, it'll run all day tho
Can you please comment on the grounding? I see the directions say I have to ground it… but I don’t see anyone doing that? Thank u
What do you mean? When running it?
Ehh yea I'm not sure what you're talking about, just pull it out the box put oil & gas and it should fire right up

It's probably for a parallel connection with another unit
Can someone help me?? Driving me nuts. Is there or is there not a fuel gauge on this model ??!IV had for about a year
No
The 2000 does but this 1400 does not
Fuel injection for generators is great idea.
Does Harbor freight sell a bigger one? And is that big enough to run your camper
Yup they have a 9500
Ugghhh depends on what you'll need I guess. 1100 running watts
Yes,they sell the 2000 and 3500

9amps max. A normal outlet is 15 amps, so really only good for a few low-power things
At the beginning of the description, the man says that this unit has "Two, 12V plugs" I believe that he meant TWO 120VAC port? Is that correct????
Yea, that's correct. I had to Google it lol. But yea, 2- of those
I stopped watching after I saw him holding a white claw.
Lol more alcohol than a shitty PBR 🤣😂
Man make beer. Beer doesn't make man
Exactly 💯
😂😂😂😂
my pull start gets locked up
I went and looked at these today, they are almost the same size as the 2000’s, not much point to buying the smaller one. Only saving $100.

If I pick one up it will be the pulsar 2000, all these little generators use the same motor whether you pay 400 or 600.
@@tomallen6073 Are you saying the 1400 Predator and the 2000 Predator have the exact same motor?

I love safty gas cans. I spill a ton 9f gas out of them
Oh yea LOL 😆
You never explain about the oil that you should put the oil in the generator
Said it's on the side panel what kind and how much
Mine started smoking
Quieter off the cooler genius 😂
Lol
Quieter still IN the cooler...
Ran 25ft of patio lights and a Kurieg coffee maker and it kept shutting off kept saying Overload. Super disappointed 👎👎👎 I’m returning it

make sure you're adding up the watts correctly
I have seen a coffee maker shut down a 3kw and 5 kw. They pull alot at first hit.
Keurig coffee makers can draw 1400 - 1600 watts all by themselves.
That is quiet for you? Not for me.
must be his mic , just picked this up its quieter than that. I also have the 3500. both great for what I need. I run tools only and nice to have in a emergency.
It operates at 60 decibels lol
Quit?! Sounds loud to me
It's literally 3 dcb's louder than the Honda, yes its quite
Rumor has it...one of these caused Chernobyl...
LOL 😆
Yes, they were running the safety check and this Predator 1400 was their backup power. Unfortunately, as they were doing the plant shutdown the Predator ran out of gas. They should have gone with the Honda!
That is NOT super quiet..
