Insurance companies shouldn’t have to take loss on these vehicles. There were flood warnings issued days before these waters arrived.. It was negligent for these owners to allow their cars to be by these flood waters. They should have parked them on high ground or garages the city opened up for people to temporarily store and park cars in to protect against this loss of property. Let the owner assume the loss on their own negligence if they knew there were flood warnings issued instead of passing the buck to others by raising everyone else’s premiums. Going back to my point in original post, if these people had plenty of time to safely move their vehicles out of the way, legal nuances like that should be considered before paying out millions on losses. There's a lot of mean comments here. It wasn't raining in the morning of this horrible day. People went to work, the flooding started and they were just trying to get home. IT WAS A FLASH FLOOD EVENT. They didn't have any idea how bad they're attempt to drive home was going to be. I saw on the news where intersections were blocked off by police cars and the damn police wouldn't get out of their cars to help direct traffic. Even ambulances couldn't get through. I'm pretty sure a lot of people whose cars stalled out weren't doing it on purpose. Miami Dade engineers/ infrastructure have a history of not keeping up with areas that needed better drainage and fixing the problem.
City should be held liable for this damages. That area is known for flood issues. Even from much less rain, and the city did not solved the problem. Now because all this claimes the insurance rates will go up for everybody.

@mguti090 yeah I live in Daytona and after Ian and Nichole (the last two that hit us pretty directly) we had heavy flooding in the area, I saw only a handful of cars on the road everyone else was walking or biking and everyone that was out had their phones and were reporting flooded roads to the authorities and posting them in local fb groups so that people who needed to drive knew which roads to avoid. Sounds like Miami is the one that lives in a fantasy world to me if people are out driving knowing there is excessive flooding after a storm 🤷♀️
I'm sure many people making claims over the phone gave up after being put on hold for hours
Father-in-Law’s car insurance for one car in Florida was more than our three cars in NJ.
There are a lot of "Used cars"in that group of flooded vehicles, cars that should be scrapped that will be patched and re-sold to various used car dealers......
😢 It will get worse!!! Insurance rates are gonna hit the roof!!! Floridians will become more poor and will have to stop buying cars!!! Drive the bus 😮
This flooding is from a stalled storm, it has nothing to do with living in Florida. I will say the idiots driving into flood waters, the insurance shouldn’t cover, that’s pure stupidity.
There are people who on purpose drove cars into flood to get out of payments, we all know what kind of person that is, balling on a budget, and now our rates go up
Work still starts at 8.. If any employer demanded work during a flood they should pony up as well.
INSURANCE NOT GOING TO PAY NOTHING
Sad to watch, and hurricane season has just begun!
🎯
All trashed.
A curse for some and a blessing for others.
Seems like flooding is crazy out there.
Why do People try to Drive in Water !!
Because where they live used to be wet lands.
To get the other side… I don’t know why?
Because they have insurance 😉
Anything to avoid a bath
Because it's there!
Insurance will go up n up📈📈📈⬆️⬆️⬆️⬆️
Crazy how we just keep raising the values of things like cars and homes to such absurd prices and then everyone complains about the price of their insurance. Can't even imagine how bad it will be in just another 20 years.
You’ll own nothing and you’ll be happy is coming WAY before that.
Man, I'm getting old. I remember when making grammatical errors, like in this title, would prevent someone from even working at a news station. Now it's very common. May as well just hand it all over to A.I. at this point.
Miami Dade engineers/ infrastructure have a history of not keeping up with areas that needed better drainage and fixing the problem.
wonder if insurance rates are gonna go up? Probably not, rt?
Merci beaucoup. Je vous aime aussi.
I guess that policy of refusing to talk about climate change isn't working out so well for the Florida gop.
because talking about climate will prevent future rain
Cllimate change is a scam. The proof is there's no flooding in Arizona.
It’s the sun. There is allot of activity right now on the sun effecting the earth
Yea, cause a democrat can control Mother Nature with your money.... RETARD!!!
Oh no, no insurance. Please don’t ask us for help.
What a waste of money
where are the alligators and spiders, in the attics? the surprise at midnight in the dark no one wants.
I was just thinking how great it would be to have a trip to S. Florida - Miami Dade, etc.
Prior to the flooding
Best advice. >> DO NOT try to start the engine if it gets in water.
Where can i get one?
You MUST pay your insurance fees but they dont want to take care of you when/if the time comes that you need them!!
I thought Florida banned climate change? 😂
City should be held liable for this damages. That area is known for flood issues. Even from much less rain, and the city did not solved the problem. Now because all this claimes the insurance rates will go up for everybody.
Sue themselves 😂🎉
Wrong. The home owners who chose to buy that property should be responsible. Not the city; Not the insurance.
Judgement is here America.
I mean, the insurance companies can handle it. You pay monthly for something that may or may never eventually happen. Imagine how much a NATIONAL insurance company makes in ONE CITY! They aren’t as big as they are for nothing
Good luck getting state farm to pay.
True that. They are stingy and I dont even live in Florida.
I can see it now insurance companies are packing their bags
Imagine if they were all EV's.
This should be one of Ron DeSantis priorities of infrastructure instead of constantly attacking black people.
did black people create a negative infrastructure?
What? How? When? The Derangement of people is astounding.
STFU QUIT SPEWING BILE OUT YOUR PIE HOLE
EXACTLY!!!
Too worried about seeing your papers.
These puppies are about to hit the Midwest hard 😂.
You can't get relief on a claim if you deliberately 😮 drove into a flooded area😮Stay home like DeSamtis told you 😮
Sad sad news.
I would never insure a car dealership sitting at such a low floodplain level. Just refuse to insure them so they go out of business. They should lose their business for stupidity. You know it's and insurance scam. You never see crap vehicles, it's always luxury cars.
Yeah insurance rates Will go up... If you don't have insurance on a vehicle that you still owe the BANK. you will be RESPONSIBLE for paying for the vehicle....the bank don't give a hoot about no flood.... You AGREED too with the bank when you signed the contract to get the vehicle that's why they require insurance... To SECURE THE LOAN so either way YOU GOT TO PAY $$$$$$
Positivity - Opportunity for insurance revenue increases and flooded car grifting.
There are many nice cars in Miami areas. Tow truck drivers made good money, $3K per car x 10 = $30K per day.
They don’t make 3k per car towed. They don’t even earn a tiny percentage of that. AAA charges members $100 (yes, one hundred) a year for 3 tows and an array of other benefits.
It makes you want to move to New Orleans where they have REAL floods.....When the levy breaks there is no place to run to.
Good tip on restarting.
And because people are too dumb to move their cars to higher ground all of our insurance cost will go up
Not much higher ground in South FL to begin with 😂
Like I seen Hollywood there’s no curbs it’s all flat grass. An the water is rising all around what can you do
Isn't it evident that y'all should not live in FL anymore? I'm not sure what gives. Need to get rid of engine pollution but y'all think it's a hoax 😢
I wouldn’t be surprised if they drove into the water purposely.
Don't give Florida Man a new car, you know he is just going to wreck it again!
Is the title worded right?
No, it was a total failure.
That Pontiac transport van 1995. I would like to have. Contact me please.
The price of boats is going to go up.
Oh well that’s Florida….
I would drive a flooded ride, engine swap it?
