my goodness!!!! your videos are so amazing. i like to think of myself as a manly man but the theme and music of this video almost brought tears to my eyes. would be the experience of a lifetime for me and my wife to craft a 20 year band in such a manner.....so please dont retire anytime soon!!.....only 7 more years ;)

Can you explain why you melted the good with copper then used acid.
Is it to remove impurities?
In my experience refining precious metals, that process of adding metal to the karat gold is called “inquarting”. What that means is your creating a gold alloy with those two metals. The next step in the process is to dissolve the alloy with hot dilute nitric acid to remove the “impurities”; the copper, silver and any other “base metals” that may be present in that karat gold, leaving strictly the gold powder behind. Gold will not dissolve in straight nitric acid. This method produces the highest purity of gold.
@@erichansen2418 oh! Thank you so much for explaining...I wasn't familiar with that extra step! I was really wondering ! So, the inquarting uses alloys to draw out the impurities by drawing them to itself? Then the nitric acid dissolves them without pitting the gold or leaving traces of impurities behind?
Don't know if it's too late, but gold is mixed with copper to make Rose Gold, it's a very beautiful material.
I don't know about what was said before about impurities and all. Guess it's true too

long time ago my granddad past away and always found this very inspirational to make something of his old jewelry because its getting weak but now since my dad just past away i wane make something from my granddad and my dad with there ashes in and some of the gold they where wearing i have seen this video 1000 times
This video was so touching, for some reason at one point of the vid I started thinking about my Mom it was just so beautiful the way u not only made sumtin miraculously beautiful but u let the couple actually partake in helping u start the process for their lovely pieces 💙💙😍😍
