    What a fantastic explanation of how to use WBPP. Just the right amount of technical talk. Very easy to understand. On to the next video!

    By a stroke of luck, I came across your channel. As a beginner in PI, your channel is Godsent.

    Best WBPP guide I have seen, hands down! Thanks!

    It's interesting to see the differences between different folks in how they use WBPP. I guess you can make a variety of decisions around the level of precision that you want. For example, I've never used the tolerances to isolate/separate image groups. I've also never separated the captures from different days if they were taken in the same location (my Bortle 6 sky) and same season (for temperature reasons). And I don't separate each channel for OSC processing. I'm happy with the results, but I can see how there can be improvements now. And I've just gotten my first mono camera so will be dealing with separate channels shortly.

      WBPP definitely offers a variety of ways you can preprocess. I mainly separate my images if I have a difference in exposure times so that it applies the darks to the correct exposure time, especially since this is a very crucial part of effective dark calibration. What are you running for your mono camera and filters?

      @@Hidden.Light.Photography I know the most popular choice is a crop sensor camera like the ZWO 2600MM-Pro or 2600MM-Duo, but I started out with a MFT camera, the ZWO 294MC-Pro and my store was offering a great deal on the mono version of that camera, the 294MM-Pro. I'm used to its quirks (amp glow) so I went with that. Filters are L,R,G,B with an Ha filter in the mix too. Have just started working with it, so no results to show yet. But it is a big change to have to run 4 or 5 filters in a night.

      I’ve heard really good things about 294 pro. As long as the camera matches your OTA you should be able to get good results. Some may take a little extra care to get there (amp glow and even using DSLR), but the results are very realistic to achieve. One of my goals was to go mono by the end of the year so I finally did it. Same here with no results to be had yet, but currently working M101 and IC5070. I’m running Optolong LRGB HA Sii and Oiii filters. I agree, it’s definitely a different beast running mono haha. How are you coming along in your project? What are you imaging first?

      @@Hidden.Light.Photography Sadly, I can't be that prescriptive in my imaging plans. I image from my driveway in a residential subdivision, with limited access to the south. I have to physically sit with the scope during capture since it's in public view. So my evening and next day schedule factors in too. Can't just set it up and let it run all night. On a rare clear night (even more rare lately), I check the charts for what is visible to me for the duration I can be outside and go with that. Will slowly build up imaging time on multiple targets over several weeks, and once I hit 10 hours, will have a first look at the stacked result. I started with the typical beginner targets - Orion Nebula, Rosette Nebula, Andromeda Galaxy, etc. I've also decided to get a second scope and put two rigs outside at once. One scope will be the 60mm f/5. Second scope will be a 103mm f/7.1. This hobby is getting expensive!

      Nothing wrong with that at all. I’d love to see what you get when you get it if you don’t mind :)

    Here is a suggestion for a video: figuring out what is good or is trash from the multiple files WBPP creates, especially if drizzle and autocrop are used.

    Following all the tutorials with interest. I wonder if you could number the videos? Watching them in the correct order would be helpful. The same goes for your NINA series of videos. Many thanks for all the hard work.

      I’m glad you are enjoying the content! Yes, I can put them in order. A thought that came to mind is run short 20-30s “table of contents” videos for each series and have the videos in order in the description. Would that work? Also, thank you, I appreciate the support!!

      Here is a table of contents for PixInsight. I am currently working on one for NINA. Hope this helps!

    May I ask why you do not do Bias frames?

    • @Hidden.Light.Photography
      @Hidden.Light.Photography  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Absolutely! I image using both ASI533MC and ASI2600MC which are CMOS sensors and Bias frames are not required with CMOS sensors.
