Would it be too difficult for you to just ask your daughter to be more consistent? You don't need to go on a road trip but I don't see why she can't take you out once a week?
My Mother has passed, but my sibling and I all helped her and my Dad. I would have set up a time, but she got where she didn’t want to get out. So she called me a list, I gathered and paid for the groceries and took them to them. I always bought some extras and paid for them separately and she never said anything. No thanks. No nothing. They wrote me a check from the main receipt. I knew they were on a fixed tight budget. They offered to add gas money because my sister always accepted their offer. I did not. Daughters need to help more but sometimes daughters can’t help financially and if Anna ran short at the grocery store, the daughter might not be able to help her at this time. As we age, (anything after 55) start planning ahead for the expense of a car. It’s really better for everyone to drive as long as you can. My Mother in law stopped driving at 52, because she didn’t want to pay auto insurance and gasoline etc. So we helped her for over 15 years! It is a heavy burden on the family when parents don’t keep up their car, their DL and all that entails. She passed at 72. Stay as healthy as you can Anna!
Hi Anna, I sold my car after working from home for a few years and have my groceries delivered. I miss getting out though and car prices are crazy now. Since Covid I've become kind of a recluse. Our company is having massive layoffs in January and I hope with the free time I can start getting out to walk and take better care of myself. Also an easy dinner I love is just a baked potato with butter, sour cream and broccoli. I buy frozen veggies so they don't go to waste. Take care 😊❤
You mentioned you’re struggling financially and now you hardly leave the house. I too live in a mobile home. Do you have a clubhouse? Can you find out if there’s a transportation that pick you up to go to appointments and places like groceries in case your daughter can’t pick you up. I take advantage of the ART transportation. Find out which transportation company does that. You call them in advance to reserve pick up and drop off. They’ll pick you up in front of your house and drop you off in front of your house. Something else you need to find out. Food pantry…. Find out if there’s any food pantries by you like a church. If clubhouse cannot help you with information, perhaps your daughter can help. Get all the help you need. Sometimes clubhouse help with food. If they do, ask them if they can deliver to your house. If they don’t, ask your daughter or neighbor if they can help you. Just a suggestion about food: more fresh veg and plain meats might be easier on the budget, and healthier too. I just know that processed or pre-made foods wreck my own health so I stick to unadulterated ones!!!! And I tend to crave the plain or naked foods from the ground or the fields so I can dress them up myself to fit my own nutritional needs/wants. Dear person you were thinking just how I was about more vegetables and healthy things it's a combination for people to learn how to do that I am an overweight person always have been but I eat vegetables and fruit and I don't try to have a lot of sugar. You remind me of me,I have a truck and car,but do not get out a lot,just to shop,go to the doctor,and see parents,too much traffic here,I hate it,I always get peanut butter and I got that rice,also,I got the spam.

It is hard to ask our kids for this kind of help. I am 80 and I have the same issues.
