I was so proud of jerry for attempting to fight someone being a creep to summer, even thou I knew anything good would immediately go to his head. It’s nice to see the spineless jerry standup for his daughter, he locked Beth outside of a car when a homeless dude was chasing them😂character growth
This time it didn’t go to his head though, Rick and Jerry actually benefited this time around. It wasn’t until Rick went to see Pissmaster that it went wrong. Rick should have let Pissmaster die a dishonorable death
@@Anon-qp3kt nah jerry was already showing douche symptoms, he showed up late to his Uber important orb meeting and when he did he was on his phone. It wasn’t as bad as when he became god of the reject people😂 Shaboom boom
As much as I don’t want the series to turn into a vehicle for Harmon’s narcissism, it’s nice to see him writing from experience and displaying Rick’s therapist as one of the most powerful beings in the universe.
@@XDWASDX I wouldn't say she's being displayed as such, cuz then that would be like saying that Morty or Jerry are the most powerful beings in the universe too. Just being in proximity to Rick and having gained access to Rick's sympathy doesn't make them the most powerful beings in the universe cuz they can still get clapped easily.
When you think about it the episode could've had a different ending if Rick just went to his therapist again so he can tell someone about what happened to Pissmaster without the risk of Jerry finding out
wasn't Mr Goldenfold seeing the Therapist because he was eating poop... Is there a deeper story here? Did Mr Goldenfold get swapped with a fly off screen a few seasons ago (Pickle Rick episode I think) or was him being turned into a fly part of his therapy
Really loved this episode. It was fun getting to see Jerry have his moment in the spotlight. And honestly, any episode that takes Rick to a really dark place emotionally ends up being one that I love.
8:01 would like to mention that Strawberry Smiggles was introduced all the way back in the 1st season ep "Rixty Minutes" which was when we got the 1st interdimensional cable.
The teacher was probably still seeing Dr. Wong for a certain eating disorder, and when Rick turned him into a fly and then back to human, he said something like "I was a fly, no guilt at all, thanks for curing me".
This is definitely one of my top 3 favorite episodes. I loved all the villains and Rock had an incredible arc on this episode. Loved seeing Mr Nimbus back since he’s my favorite Rick villain. Now on to watch my favorite chumps video.
Another easter egg: The therapy scenes are probably a reference to Netflix series "Lucifer", the protagonist goes to therapy and like 90% gets the wrong point that the therapist is trying to make.He is also sometimes not going to therapies without saying it in advance because he thinks he is alright, like we see rick does when he wants to stop a vulcano eruption
I wasn't sure about the episode at first, but I honestly appreciated how dark it went. the only part I didn't like was morty immediately telling his family that rick had the suicide letter, I feel like he was confiding in morty because that's a lot to weigh on the conscience butttt def a good way to make the rest of the fam realize internet fame is fleeting
I feel like when rick and morty does episodes of where they try to make rick change it ends up working out because these more human moments resonate with people more and makes rick more beloved. These are also good jumping off points to go extremely weird. It is somewhat similar to how solar opposites does it, it takes an extremely simple concept then just goes ape shit by the end.
Heads-up, this might be a little dark, but this episode might be playing to Rick's depression. Now it's no secret anymore about his origin and in this episode he gets to undo the same potential trauma to a stand in for his daughter. He also keeps reminding us that he doesn't like attention and his drinking problem shows back up. Also, since you referenced Watchmen... I'm surprised you didn't mention the scene where the Comedian visits a villain in the middle of the night, much like Rick, to pore out his heart with someone he feels closer to than his family. Might be a stretch, but it's an interesting thought perhaps 🤔
Dr. Wong specializes in family therapy and copraphilia. Goldenfold goes to Dr. Wong for copraphilia; (haha, where'd my family get to?) the disorder in which one is compelled to eat poo. Flies eat poo as a natural course of their lives. I'm pretty sure he has a breakthrough due to his transmogrification _(thank youuuuu, Calvin & Hobbes.)_ I thought that was a pretty clever bit of writing that's gone overlooked.
The fact that they animated Mr Nimbus bulge because of the controversy that Disney edited out Namor’s was something that I missed the first time around🤯😂
Jerry was such a strong force in this episode that I was waiting for Rick to reveal “We’re in a simulation!” On top of Jerry, everything just always worked out 😂 The “it’s a simulation moment,” Didn’t happen. Good episode nonetheless and actually even better due to it being “real.” and not a simulation.
I think the Toast villain Jerry is fighting is actually French Toast. He has a swirly French mustache and in the background are eggs and other egg related items. And in order to make French toast need to use eggs. 😂
Morty was surprisingly the maniac in this episode and Jerry of course is like he'd rather PeeMaster piss on Summer than live with the guilt that he killed himself because of him
This season is much more well received, mainly due to the fact the episodes are more allegorical. The episodes all have hidden meanings. Where as season past, episodes simply had a ton of random stuff going on.
When Jerry blew up the planet its not that it only had hitlers, it's that the orb does what the wearer has in his heart and Jerry hoped there were no people and the orb obliged. My theory
10:10 You could mention Goldenfold saying how free he was as a fly cause he eats POOP! I think you may have forgotten this. it started in pickle rick episode and we had another joke about it this season but you didn't mention it. The joke was something like he was saying aliens or something made him lick the toilet sits (probably he just wanted to do so himself.)
The bartender when Rick was getting drunk was a member of his heist team! I haven’t gone through all the common sense I don’t know if somebody else said that already
Love starting my week with a fresh new Spoiler breakdown from mah boi PAUL! Love how Meta R & M has gotten and Harmon and crew are masters at their craft.
1 thing i saw was when rick saved jerry he touched the sticky orb and it wasnt sticky to him which hints at earlier in the ep when they said it wouldn't be sticky to rick
Last week when they were flying through the title sequence Rick said “next episode” when they saw Jerry in the suit. Everyone thinks he says “best episode”.
16:02 . Missed opportunity to say 'i know it seemed like i was taking the piss out of it.. '. Or wait, was 'crapping on it' a play on it by association maybe?
I just have this strong feeling that the bartender (10:55) is Quintin Tarantino playing a scene in a bar (DEATH PROOF) where he is the barkeep and confirms that "He is stuntman Mike. He is nobody.."
Rick has been shown to change, but there is something to always undo that change, cause him to back track, or ruin anything he has that is positive for him. Being considerate backfired and Morty rat him out because...lying is bad or probably just to show how toxic the whole family is.
Honestly I think Rick should've just listened to his therapist and stayed on the sidelines. Instead of just getting involved with piss masters destroyed reputation.
@@kingnamor777 Not so much the sidelines, but getting involved beyond that. She supported and encouraged Rick to find himself as it was in guideline with her assessment. He messed up by opening up about the suicide late instead of before which is why Morty "ratted" him out. Nah man, this episode crazy to be focused on
10/10 episode
It was a really funny episode, You didn't miss a thing!

Technically that was a different Goldenfold of a different dimension. Also a person can have multiple issues.
Low key wouldn’t mind a goldenfold centered episode
flies eat poop too, so maybe getting turned into a fly somehow ended up helping him(?)
@@benshapirohamburgerhelper1239 that was my take.
