It’s nice to see someone actually acknowledging the Red Alpinists. I have the SCVF005 and the SARB017, and I can confidently say that the older SCVF is the better watch, with great proportions and design. Good video Evan.
Awesome video. I really like all black watches esp these seiko black editions. But for some reason im not a fan on wrist of the full black look.. off wrist i figgin love them... Idk... great video!
The Alpinist was one of the first pieces I latched onto during my "watch awakening", but I quickly moved on to other, flashier models. When the new GMT version came out though, the fire was rekindled, and during a recent trip to Japan I bought the SBEJ005 -- the JDM model with a green dial. It's a little chunky on my six-and-a-quarter-inch wrist, but I love it to bits and have worn it so often that I'm thinking about downsizing my collection.
I have a Ninja-Turte and so wear it a lot from the beginning - the black coating does look nearly new despite its age. Its hold up even better then the regular Turtle.
I love my sarb017 and my Hodinkee Blue Alpinist. Love the video too. And I bet you can choose, but I've never heard it be called AlpinEist before. I'm on team Alpinist all day long. What do you guys think?
Those green lume filled cathedral hands on the night vision remind me of those Poljot Buran chronographs. In fact one of those would look sick if you could get it ceracoted
Why oh why did Seiko have to make the date wheel white. It totally messes with the green/gold scheme and is magnified by the... well magnifier (which in itself I dig)
Seiko has figured out how to maximize sales and profitability - despite the grumbling of collectors. Which shows we are the smaller part of the market for them - and all brands.
“Who hurt you and what lead you down the path of seeking help in the comments section.” Man, I need to remember this any time there’s some dude saying that anything that’s less than 39mm is a “watch for my wife.” These dude’s wives are imaginary.
Very nice but the combination with night vision aesthetics, which is a lot more modern in contrary to the vintage look of the alpinist doesn't do it for me. I guess it would work a lot better with something like the Samurai.
I bought this popular video watch from nkuwan , which was originally priced at a few thousand dollars, but now it's only $380! It's really suitable to pick up feces!
Alpinist - My first Seiko mechanical watch, sold it after 8 months of use because for every month it's always 5 to 8 minutes ahead. Then I realize this is normal for 6R movement. Alpinist, they look cute but the movement is not for everyone.
I love how Seiko keeps charging more and more for Namgyal Wangdi’s misaligned wicks that Rolex claims he wore on Mt Aplinest. It doesn’t stop me buying them, even though I can’t afford them anymore. 😉😂
That blackout one perfectly encapsulates the problem with Seiko repositioning itself as a more premium brand. If ten years ago they added a tacky little number like that to the catalogue for $350, well it's just a bit of fun. Now they make a big fanfare about limited editions and charge money that's knocking on the door of real watches...it's just not cute anymore, they're taking themselves entirely too seriously.
I like black watches, but something about black bracelets seems not right, maybe even wrong. Seems so tactical it would look better on a black nato or a rubber strap.
These would be so nice if they didn't mistake their dials for spec sheets. Watch makers of this world, grow up already and quit messing up your products, or, at the very least, go all the way and print diameters, lug-2lug and the CEO's social security number on there.
All PVD coating watches are crap, the paint is rubbing off only by friction with the clothes you are wearing; that’s a big NO for me, better look for a DLC watch
are you saying alpine-ist on purpose its driving me nuts this is something i can definitely imagine you doing
Sheesh. Yes
Zero punctuation and run-on sentences drive me nuts.
Literally came to comment the same thing 😂
Me too 😬
It’s absolutely intentional. Get in with the LOLZ

I second that!
Perfect for the night time.
Great content.

That's remarkable! What is the firm name? How did you come across this financial advisory firm and how does their matching process work.

Very nice mountaneering watch from Seiko. I'd love to see Oris make a mountaineering watch. Great review, as always.
"But I roll natural" line cracked me up 😂😂
Ooof... that black one is STUNNING!
Your Mt Hood math amused me. Thanks Evan!
Thank for this! My favorite seiko and my latest purchase (SPB 121), literally my dream watch.
Everything on your 7inch wrist look amazing.
Cheers! 🇧🇷

Good video Evan.
I see Youre Terrific post....I click......I see Alpinist.....I click faster.
I like your style. And especially your way of talking about the timepieces. You've earned my subscription. 😊 keep it up.
The SPB121 was my first ever watch. I still wear it weekly and it's been with me halfway around the world now. I'd recommend it to anyone.
Awesome video. I really like all black watches esp these seiko black editions. But for some reason im not a fan on wrist of the full black look.. off wrist i figgin love them... Idk... great video!
Great content presented hilariously well. Bravo.

That black is gorgeous
is it al-pin-nist or al-pine-ist
Great question, maybe YT is actually pronouncing it right in the video 🤔
PIN!
I think it's al-pin-ist.
He’s doing a bit
@@danbash oh for sure.
Perfect for night time alpining
Really like the look of the black edition one
I have a Ninja-Turte and so wear it a lot from the beginning - the black coating does look nearly new despite its age. Its hold up even better then the regular Turtle.
The alpinist was my first watch and it’s still my favorite, it’s like if the explorer was actually meant to be used 😂
Terrific. Thank you!
Great video! I do like my SARB017 though... I just can't get my head around the cyclop crystal...
wait, did I laugh out loud 4 times while watching a watch review ? that's me clicking subscribe sir !
Greetings from Javier's in north Portland! Also a Seiko lover and still have my SARB017. Keep it up
Question: can I put the leather strap on the Night Vision SPB337 version
thanks
I owned one of the Night Vision as well. This got more wrist time than my Tudor BB36 champagne dial. 😅 the matte finish of SPB337 is FTW
You’re In Portland!!!!??? Damn my Idol is so close to me.
I love my sarb017 and my Hodinkee Blue Alpinist. Love the video too. And I bet you can choose, but I've never heard it be called AlpinEist before. I'm on team Alpinist all day long. What do you guys think?

Not as important, but where did you get the sweatshirt from? I dig it.
do you still own that superocean or did you sell it?
I feel exactly the same way about Citizen like you do with Seiko. Below 2000$ is my happy place too 😊 And I never want to be a serious collector
I also have a Seiko "Alpineist", one without the superfluous compass. It's the best "Alpineist" - for me.
Thank you so much kkuwan for taking us shopping🛍…my wish list just got longer🤦♀
I like the Chonky and quartz gmt Alpinist.
Why oh why did Seiko have to make the date wheel white. It totally messes with the green/gold scheme and is magnified by the... well magnifier (which in itself I dig)
Finally a watch I can afford an own. Seiko Presage Style 60s GMT next 🥺
One day I’ll have a grand seiko I promise
All pianist watches??? I see you dude.
As a person who is slowly getting on in age, I understand the rationale for the cyclops glass.
would love to see you reviewing the new gen alpinists!
Gorgeous watches.
I’m definitely a Happy Seikoist for a large part of my (not large) collection
Have you seen the new Seiko srpk87? It looks like the sort of thing you would love
Good investment buying the black one right now?
@seiko Drop de X from the dial and I'm in. And that counts for all ProspeX watches. Thanks!
The Night Vision is calling your name.
What is the size of your......sweater?
Seiko has figured out how to maximize sales and profitability - despite the grumbling of collectors. Which shows we are the smaller part of the market for them - and all brands.
This video caused me to put on my SARB017 today.
“Who hurt you and what lead you down the path of seeking help in the comments section.” Man, I need to remember this any time there’s some dude saying that anything that’s less than 39mm is a “watch for my wife.” These dude’s wives are imaginary.
That phallic looking hour hand. I can never not see it 😭
You might want to see a doctor.
I have the Baby Alpinist on the bracelet and it's Seikoholic nirvana!
I came here for the alpinist. I left for the alpine-ist
Dang bro, i think i might get one of these
I love Seiko
Did I miss the +/- figures on this movement?
With Seikos of this price, it’s rarely worth listing. Some will be dead accurate, others will be -20s per day. Each individual watch is different.
I'd prefer quartz to that level of inaccuracy
Then you are smarter than most collectors.
Never selling my SARB017...
Love how you triggered us this time😂😂😂
Only this time?
@@YoureTerrific of course not
Would be dope if Seiko made a black series Laurel Alpinist 😮
I watch your videos for your tongue-in-cheek humour
I see this video and just went "hell yeah"
Very nice but the combination with night vision aesthetics, which is a lot more modern in contrary to the vintage look of the alpinist doesn't do it for me. I guess it would work a lot better with something like the Samurai.
I love how he is trolling everyone 😂😂. I’m just going to read the comments of everyone correcting him lol!
video 1 of asking a review of the longines conquest 2023 green dial
Would be nice to show your wrist size when you show the dimensions, take note.
I bought this popular video watch from nkuwan , which was originally priced at a few thousand dollars, but now it's only $380! It's really suitable to pick up feces!

5 mins a month is like 10 secs a day. p decent for a basic non chronometer movement. just reset it daily/weekly
@@jacobt1027 Do we have to adjust it on Regular basis? I mean weekly is ok but daily? Do we not have any infinite solution for it?
Sounds like quartz movements are a better fit for you.
Maybe this was the correct way of saying Alpinist all along. I wonder…
Nice Al’Pine’Est
I love your videos but the way you’re saying “Alpinist” is very triggering to me lol
0:07 I never understood why Seiko keeps using this ugly black text on the back of their watches… We want to see the movement!
I prefer the hi beat early 2000 alpine ist with red text under and not X. 😎💯
If only the compass rings locked on these, drives me nuts
I love how Seiko keeps charging more and more for Namgyal Wangdi’s misaligned wicks that Rolex claims he wore on Mt Aplinest. It doesn’t stop me buying them, even though I can’t afford them anymore. 😉😂
AL-PA-NIST. Are you trying to troll us?
A watch perfect for Col. Evan’s Ascent
🦎
A fellow Community enjoyer I see.
I need one 🥲 I'm wearing Casio w158 and I can't afford more than 15dollar
Really want to sell my SPB117

I think his pronunciation of alpinist is ironic which makes it sooo good
Seiko it to me baby yeah!
Someone please please put the night vision on a hot pink ribbed nato strap please
I like black watches, but something about black bracelets seems not right, maybe even wrong. Seems so tactical it would look better on a black nato or a rubber strap.
600 and 700 bucks at present
Ugh I hate when my candle wick is misaligned 🔥
That’s what you can expect from affordable candles.
al-PIE-nist
😀
Is English your first language

Alpine-ist much?
The Alpinist dial is a mess...
Tenzing Norgay died for YOUR sins.
Won’t buy one because numerals are not lined 🤦🏻♂️
I'm sure picking up one Alpinist won't cause a problem for you. I only have 1..wait, 2 of them. They are multiplying. Send help.
All PVD coating watches are crap, the paint is rubbing off only by friction with the clothes you are wearing; that’s a big NO for me, better look for a DLC watch
7:10 🤣
Al pine ist? Come on man.
Too small for my wrist
Lose some weight 🤷🏽♂️
