  • Two short pieces for string orchestra I wrote in the summer of 2023 when we had a bit of sunshine in England (yep, both days). They were intended to go as a pair, both trying to be evocative of a country garden, with all the weather and slugs.
Written in Musescore 4 with Muse Sounds.

I have a bit of suggestion for you. When you are writing, have a nice contrast between a few voices and many voices, in this case you have the full section playing the most of the time in both pieces. But if you sometimes would reduce it to just the cello, basses, first violins or violas playing the rest of the piece with all of the other instruments feel more special. Sometimes you feel like you got to have things rolling but this can be a great little trick both to keep engagement and interest in the music! Keep composing!
