    Love your playing...I'm jealous :) I love singing the old country like Merle, George Strait, Conway, Buck, Gene Watson, but can't play lead like this...not even close :/. Any suggestions on the foundation you should learn first to get started learning lead?? Thank you for your videos :)

      Thanks for your kind comments. I just started when I was very young learning from listening to my dad’s records. I also used to practice and come up with ways to make a major scale lick sound more interesting by choosing the notes that would move me musically. It’s hard to describe it really but I tried not to bore myself by repeating the same musical phrases. Learning to play licks all over the fingerboard in the major scale was really helpful for me. However Listening to all kinds of music, determination and patience are the key ingredients of becoming a better player. Obviously I have a LOT more to learn but that’s how I got this far. Thanks again!
