You know, making an attraction where you have to stand after spending most of the day on your feet walking around the park and standing in lines is very on brand for the evil villain theme of this attraction.
I wonder how wheelchair users use it too. My understanding is that you have to turn towards the scene in that room which isn’t easy in a wheelchair on a moving conveyer belt!
Walk about 8+ miles every time I go to Universal. Happily go on Villaincon over and over. Went on it at least 5-6 times the last time I was at the park in a single day
just like spending all day at Universal Islands of Adventure, standing in line for rides and genearlly being on your feel all day, wanting something to eat after you get back near your hotel, just to go to a buffet where you have to stand in line for the pasta for up to 10 minutes (my experience eating at Oreganato).
Knowing nothing about this attraction before watching the video, my first thought was "that's a cool, fun little side game to play while waiting in line" and then I saw that it was the actual ride.
I'm pretty sure the reason people don't like this "ride" is because usually a ride constitutes a place to sit, especially after waiting in a line. I wouldn't call this a ride, it's a walkthrough attraction. Like the sleeping beauty castle at Disneyland
Yes, I love standing in a line only to stand on a moving platform line. 🤣 I honestly wish they changed it to the DreamWorks theater like they did in Hollywood.
@@TPMvids I can agree. Or at least maybe some other Dark Ride of sorts. I just feel that this attraction isn't worth the wait as I know many people prefer seated attractions after a long wait. 🤣
This is actually a pretty cool ride idea that I'd like to see at other parks. But this also feels very temporary, as if they have plans for the space in a few years and it'll be easy to tear down.
I have the Shrek ride on dvd, I got it with my regular Shrek dvd as a kid. It was honestly a fun ride and the queue was amazing but it wasn’t anything groundbreaking. They just took a pre-existing 3D movie got, moving seats with special effects and that’s it. I honestly would rather have secret life of pets in that section. The one at USH looks soooo good and I’ve never even watched the movies.
Although this is innovative and different, it’s mostly for kids and it’s truly lackluster in my opinion. There’s already another timeless shooter ride in the park, one that’s way better! The least they could’ve done was come up with a way better ride.
They’ve already tested it with wheelchairs and walkers for those with mobility issues. Both can go on the moving platform. ECVs will need to transfer to a wheelchair. So they have policies in place. I asked when I did it
We just did this attraction last week. We both liked it! It’s a little break up in the middle of the day for something a little different. I’m a huge video gamer so playing one giant game was appealing to me lol. Screens looked great and the blaster response time was as good as it seems like it could be in a situation like that
I had fun. Liked it as much if not more than Buzz Lightyear at MK. More interactive, more to do, more replay value. Would never wait more than 20mins for it. But enjoyed it for what it is.
i can’t wait to try this! i’ve been looking forward to going back to universal orlando. i went last january, and just so happened to catch one of the last Shrek movie showings. was wondering what would take its place. now i can’t wait to blast minions!
I haven't been to Universal Studios in a while, so this attraction looks like something fun I could do maybe in the middle of the day, that way I can kind of rest my legs for a bit and still go on a ride and have fun. Also I'm a huge gamer fan so ill probably be pretty decent at it.
The icon on screen is the same as the one on your blaster, just shake it about as you enter the scene and your eyes should pretty easily be able to lock on.
2:43 This part of the ride is actually a reference to how Universal treated the greatest ride they’ve ever done, despite the requests of Steven Spielberg (who Universal owes much of their success to)
I think it's crazy how both Disney's California Adventure and Universal Studios Florida both have two shooting rides each with the newest ones being designed for selling toys that "enhance" gameplay. What's up with that?
They aren't selling toys that enhance gameplay at Universal. Anyone can get the app and change some features on their blaster. They are selling a toy blaster, but it doesn't give you an advantage on the ride.
I was pleasantly surprised with it. Yes, you have to stand but its not a large area so I'd imagine actual vehicle werent possible. The accessibility is questionable (as is most universal rides since they dont allow ecvs in the queues and require you to change to wheelchairs. Thankfully, there were multiple people in the group who could push the chair. Which then made it difficult to link the app for the game and push once the guns were given out
There’s definitely a place for this kind of a ride but the park also needs another solid dark ride a la ET. Secret Life of Pets would have been a great fit
@@davidarrington4144 thats agreeable, it would be nice for it to be like the toy story lazer blast ride, where you sit in a thing and shoot at the targets
More money and time was spent in the queue than the actual ride... LMAO welcome to the new generation of "this is what you get for your EXPENSIVE trip, deal with it!"
Love this ride. Was able to make the top 15 last time i was on it. Probably the easiest and best ride to go on back to back as you constantly are trying to get a higher score and compete against others Similar for MiB
I’ve seen a video about this ride from Poseidon Entertainment and how it’s quite bad. And I do see a lot of points he made. From the looks of the POV videos myself, I don’t think this is terrible ride (Supercharged is still worse), but falls below average. The ride does remind me of Toy Story Midway Mania, but from the looks of it, Midway Mania is better. I could go on details on why it’s better, but I’m not gonna waste too much of your time. Overall, if I get the chance one day, I might go on this ride and judge for it myself. Seems ok for casual visitors, but for critical visitors, not so much.
I expected better from Universal. I wasn’t a fan of the Shrek ride, but to get rid of it for this? Ew. Seems very chaotic, just watching this video made me very anxious.
Meh. Don’t know if they had the space would have been a little better if it was more of a traditional dark ride. It’s ok I guess. Maybe it’s better in person. Thanks for the video.
First Jaws🦈, then Twister🌪, then Terminator😎🔫 2 3D👓, Barney🟣🦖, then Curious George🐵 goes to town and now Shrek👹 4D👓. All stuff at Universal Studios Orlando are gone.
That is nice they open DreamWorks land and Halloween Horror Nights and also fast and furious even secret life of pets and jurassic world also donkey Kong rollcoaster is coming to universal studios hollywood OK.
I'll give them credit for coming up with a unique "ride" system in a small space, but this is basically one step up from an actual arcade game. The park already had a shooter ride that's better than this.
You know, making an attraction where you have to stand after spending most of the day on your feet walking around the park and standing in lines is very on brand for the evil villain theme of this attraction.

SAME
This ride kinda reminds me of “The Moving Walkway Exit Is Approaching, Please Watch Your Step.”, but with guns.
Universal saw the moving sidewalk from their parking garage and said yea let’s make that a ride
This is a neat Wii game
I'm pretty sure the reason people don't like this "ride" is because usually a ride constitutes a place to sit, especially after waiting in a line. I wouldn't call this a ride, it's a walkthrough attraction. Like the sleeping beauty castle at Disneyland
A stand through attraction
It fits the villain theme perfectly.
Reminds me of escalator land from the fairly OddParents. When do we get to the ride? This is the ride! Haha

Interesting concept. I’d be curious how someone without the ability to stand rides it.

“Ride”. Technically you’re riding an airport speed walkway… but slower.
Welcome back TPMVids great to see you again! ❤❤❤
Love how they included the Orca from Jaws at 2:55
“I think the tourists would like to see the orca”
It reminds me of Toy Story Midway Mania. Pretty cool.
Never compare those ever again

Terrible ride. It’s just mass chaos that honestly goes on for too long…half way through I just wanted to start walking and leave.
This walking attraction looks fun and it’s adorable
A solid replacement for Shrek 4D

Thanks for coming back!
Pretty good how the last part goes
I love how the entire attraction looks like a sega game that was ported into the nintendo switch
I miss Shrek 4D so much, but I do love this attraction though!
They got rid of shrek for that? 💀 I didn’t even like the shrek ride nor the character and I’d still prefer shrek 💀

Like the throwbacks to Jaws and the previous Despicable Me movies and the first Minions movie.
What I wanna know is did they use the whole stage or did the only use part of it so they could still have the HHN house in the back
It honestly doesn't look very engaging or thrilling. Is it better in person?
I haven’t been on it in person but that’s my guess, I’ll get to see if that’s the case in 2 and a half months at the Orlando informer

Is there a tribute to the Shrek 4D attraction in this new Minions themed attraction?
it makes me wonder how they will handle people getting out of line or moving around,
